hi ladies, we have been engaged for a couple of years and already have 2 gorgeous kids, so bridesmaid and pageboy are sorted lol, We have decided on early September 2017, but having troubles with budget, we don't have anything saved at the moment so will be paying as we go, does anyone have any advice please.... wedding itself will be in a registry office on a Friday to save money that way and looking about 60 guests altogether, reception will be on the Isle of Wight as where I'm from originally and most of family / guests are from there too.

Well done on agreeing the date. The main thing with budget is to be realistic as to what you can put to one side. You don't want to commit yourself to things and then realise you can't afford them. Also bear in mind that you could have unexpected expenses, like a car breaking down for example, so don't commit every last penny. I would start buying things early as long as you know you definitely want them, that way you can spread costs out. If you can make things like centrepieces and favours yourselves that will save you a lot of money, and maybe use garden flowers for decorations. You could also design and print your own stationary if you're good with that kind of thing. Dresses can be found cheaply if you get them from a sample sale, or some charity shops have bridal stores.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

Sit down with your OH and write out what is most important to you both for your day. If you really love music then spend more on that and save on things you care less about. For example, we don't really care about the car we travel in, as long as it gets us there, so won't pay out for a flashy car.
Try booking big things now as you may be able to get this years prices (and things always go up with inflation) so this could save a bit.
Enter competitions too! We won a band for our wedding which has saved a fortune and we are so excited about. X
