One I saw but couldn't do as it was too late for me is enquire for prices and tell them its for a 60th birthday NOT a wedding. Coz they add extra ££££ if they know its for a wedding.

search for prom dresses NOT bridesmaid dresses - cheaper.

Don't be afraid to say "Ok well I'm going to ring around a few more people before I make my mind up. is that your best price?"

My dj is costing £495 and he is the resident dj of where we are getting hitched so he knows the ropes.
Photographer I have found for £600 but gives you them all on a disc and he brings a photobooth with him too for the guests.
The bm dresses are off of the auction site and you get discount depending on how many you need...
try vista for any invites, Save the dates etc as they are always offering them free and just paying postage..

Make a list of things that you want for the wedding. Then stick to it. Don't be tempted by 'bargains' which aren't a priority for you.

Yep make instead of buy. What we cant make we are buying rather than hiring...ie chair covers so that we can then sell them on....in fact most of the things we have seen we are hoping to sell on. We are having silk flowers rather that real and selling the flowers that wont be kept as momentos. Try and get a "package wedding" if your venue does it as I think it saves a fortune and you get so many little extras,
Our wedding package inludes dj, toastmaster, a member of staff to be santa (personal request) red carpet, cake stand, engraved cake knife, wedding night accomodation for bride/groom, invitation to have the wedding meal prior to wedding, all linen in choice of colours, top table flowers, All day room hire from 10am till 2am following morning, children under 3 eat free, discounted room rates for guests....including 3 course meal with choice of 3 for each course + coffee and mints, drinks package to include arrival drink, half bottle with meal and sparkling wine for toast and evening buffet....all based on 60 guests for a total of £2392. I think its a bargain and weve searched for a long time. xxx

use the ukbride budget planner and look at the things you can compromise a save on. I've decided I can spend a bit less on my dress if I'm only going to wear it for an hour ceremony and change into dancing gear afterwards! x

My budget saving tips would be - organise priorities - work out how much you have to spend. Allocate an amount for each item. Stick to the amount or try and get under then move the savings to another area! Use either vistaprint or a local printer for invites etc.. Make stuff! Use jewellery you want for BM's as thier presents! Check out what your friends/relatives can do - i.e. can anyone make the cake for you - help with making stuff etc... People love to be involved and help out - I have been amazed at the offers I have had from people! Keep your guest list to what you can afford for the day - and invite most people to the evening. Negotiate with your venue as this is usually the most expensive bit, also check what they can provide for you as it will save you on loads of bits! Check if your BM's will pay for thier dresses etc. See how you can save on the men's outfits - our guys are wearing thier own grey suits but we are getting waistcoats & ties made that match the BM's dresses which will cost less than hiring one suit! Get your theme sorted and stick to it! Very best of luck xxx

I've just found a DJ/Karaoke for our wedding and there charging £210 for the evening or £280 for the day and night (I thought that was a really good price) seem really nice through email so gonna do a bit more research first before i go ahead and book anything.

Just try and do lots and lots of research for the things that you want and make lots of lists (thats what im doing anyway, oh and Ebay helps too) lol

    Good luck xx
