Is anyone going to take there own money to your wedding reception to pay for drinks for yourself and h2b? Sorry for maybe a silly question x

I would say no, I know that at our engagement party I had 2 drinks in my hand all night and didn't spend a penny as everyone wanted to buy us our drinks, I cant see why it would be any different at the wedding xxx

Nope, we'll put it on a tab and charge it to our room (and hope that our guests buy us drinks all night lol - I am tee total anyway and I'm sure H2B will have his mates all buying him drinks anyway). xx

i wont be buying any drinks for myself lol its my wedding day, i didnt have to pay for any drinks at my engagement either not such a good thing when it comes to h2b he was terrible lol if he gets in that state on our wedding day ill kill him lolxx

i have said this to h2b and hes saying we wont need any money and so is my sister cos she got hers bought for her at her wedding aswell, but i still feel like i should bring my own money, cos i dont want to expect everyone to be buying us drinks even though they might, but we r also having a small wedding and times are hard for a lot of ppl so again, im thinking we might need our own money! i might take some just incase!

I'm planning on having drinks on the table so hopefully by the time it comes to the party, people will just be buying your drinks for you . Prob a good idea to take some cash though just in case you're waiting about for someone to buy your drinks for you haha! xx

We'll be taking our own money with us, if friends or family do buy a drink then that'd be lovely of them but I wouldnt expect it, esp as our venue is quite pricey for drinks - i'd feel bad if they were buying drinks for me! I know at weddings we always buy a drink for the bride and groom, then if we're off to the bar while chatting to either bride or groom we'd get them a drink then too but still - I would like to have my own money x

Speaking from experience!
Maybe I just have tight friends and family, but hubby and I only got bought about 3 drinks all night, and we were stuck in a 'have you brought any money? no? have you? no? bugger... where's a cash machine? oh it doesn't work? great.' situation at our wedding.
Neither of us took any money, I didn't have anything on me at all, not even my phone cause I had nowhere to put it! I expected hubby to bring some but as usual he didn't think!
So we ended up with hardly any drinks all night. I'd suggest you get your hubby to take some with him, put a tab behind the bar, or give some money to your parents or bridesmaid to look after for you.

I would suspect a lot of drinks will get bought for us but I will make sure we have some money as well. I don't want to set up a tab as knowing us 2 we would end up buying drinks for people without really realising how much we are spending

I tink you will get most of your drinks brought for you as we always buy the bride and groom a drink at their weddings however i would never presume so open a bar tab or take some notes and keep them in H2B's pocket just in case xxx

were staying at the hotel the night before and on the night and have decided that we will plant some bottles of vodka, wine and jack d in our room so we can sneak off and it will be bridal party stash! ha ha ha. sis said theres no need for money as people bought her drinks all night at hers and we ended up with a table of vodkas and beers!!! but ill get h2b and dad to keep some just in case!!!.

I gave £50 to my hubby as he had his wallet with him just in case (I had no pockets!) - and as it turned out he bought 2 rounds for his friends, and the rest were bought for him - I didn't pay for any as everyone was buying me drinks all night!

I didn't think of opening a tab, and to be honest I was having such a good time I didn't think about drinks most the time! I don't know, it was strange. My mum bought me drinks when I asked, but I was drinking pints of bulmers, so it was lasting a while. But I still must only have had about 2 and a bit pints all night.

hubby bought his wallet to ours but to be honest I could have been steaming with all the drinks that were offered to me. I didn't want to get drunk so turned down the vast majority but was never without a drink either x

I'm not planning on kicking the bum out of the drinking as I'll be too busy mingling and dancing. H2b is going to have his wallet on him just in case as his little boy will be there too. We are going to put some money behind the bar and my mum has said they may do the same so we probably won't spend much but I always have that just in case in the back of my mind.
