    Hello all.
Obviously the same as anyone rsvps are a nightmare. We invited just over 60 to the day time bit, and I've had 10 decline from my side......all OH`s are coming.
Then my cousin messaged me yesterday saying her and hubby can't come as she's due to give birth 5 days after wedding and she's now on crutches with the pain. They'd already rsvpd yes. If something happens then her brother n his wife and my aunt and uncle won't be there either! That's 6 meals paid for! Plus we've got the reception in a restaurant where we need to spread across 3 rooms - at this rate were gonna end up with like 4 people say in a room alone!
So I thought I'd ask a friend who's coming to my hen do if they wanted to come all day as there wasn't room before and she texts me this morning to say sorry she's off to Ibiza!
Of the 70 plus invited to evening do only 4 are from my side so there isn't really anyone to ask.
I'm feeling really low about it.....most of the people at my wedding are gonna be people I don't know!
My OH says it's just down to distance as wedding is in Kent and my family/friends all live up near Newcastle- it's easier for him as his friends etc are all here, he's lived in Kent all his life.
I know it's silly but it feels like no-one is that bothered.
my mum is no longer with us, my dad's in France, my sister is up north - but she's a frigging nightmare!
My moh is 300 miles away....she doesn't get on with my sister or my other bridesmaid!
Soz for the rant......OH thinks if I'm upset it means I don't wanna may him! Men!

Surely people would be willing to travel for a wedding. Are there any old family friends that perhaps you didn't think of before? Or some mutual friends of you and H2B?

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

we were exactly the same, even with people not turning up actually on the day with no prior warning. We invited over 120 people for the night and about 80 turned up but to be honest by the night time we didnt care - those that were important to us turned up and thats the main thing.

Just keep in mind that no matter who is or isnt there on the day/night you will be marrying your man and those that cant/wont join you for your special day are the ones missing out.

    Hey Elinor Claire,
I've not got a big family so I've invited them all! There's one cousin and his wife that I haven't seen since their wedding day like 11 years ago so as we'd got 60 plus on the list I've invited them to evening. I haven't heard anything back despite putting RSVP date on invite of June 30.
Invited my mum's best friend but she's having an operation. With them moving to France 5 years ago there isn't really any close family friends over here.
Most of our mutual friends are work friends as we met through work - those we wanted at daytime are invited, but the rest are really night time only: not that close to anyone else, mostly political reasons for the invites! Lol
I'm sure there's plenty on his side that would love to be upgraded.....how bad is it that I don't want to give up more?!

    Hey jo
Tbh there isn't. The only ones I wanted there all day aren't coming at all.
I know it's more important to me than to anyone else .......but I would not just sack off someone's wedding if they'd taken time to include me like it was a trip to the doctors!
Pretty bad now with 7 weeks to say oh do you want to come all day? Isn't it?

Ah hun , I'm only having a small wedding but know if anyone dropped out I wouldn't want to invite anyone else so know how you feel there.
I don't think it's bad at all to invite someone with 7 weeks to go, this sort of thing happens all the time. I was a last minute guest a few years back for a work friend, someone dropped out a couple of days before. I was not insulted at all, just happy to be able to go :)

    cheers ladies.....
its just been stress on top of stress......my hen do has drove me bonkers and im not even organising it - however they all still feel the need to whinge to me even though im not meant to know anything about the weekend!
started with 16 - then 7 have dropped out which left the rest in the sh*t as we needed minumum of 12! 4 are coming from the north and 1 complaining alot about travel costs (just happens to be my fecking sister!), theyre coming to me the night before - approx 3am! then the ones from down here are meeting at mine the next day and were travelling together. Another BM says no - im making my own way so shes booked retrun train tickets - even though shes only 1hr drive from my house.
I really feel like cancelling the whole thing :-(

your situation sounds similar to my H2Bs. We are having a small wedding which consists of about 25 day guests and 50-60 evening guests. The day guests are mostly my family my H2b moved away from where he grew up 16 years ago when his parents split. He hasn't been in contact with any of his extended family since. He only has 6 guests out of the day guests attending. then most of his evening guests will be work friends. I really feel bad for him but he insists he isn't that bothered by it. So I can kinda sympathize with you because I would be gutted if no one was bothered about coming. However the ladies are right the wedding is about you and your future with the man you love and if your friends/family don't want to be part of that then its their loss. Keep your chin up you will have a wonderful day no matter what x
