Just wondered when everyone has/is having their meetings with wedding co-ordinators or the venue owners before their wedding? We have had ours booked for 9 months already and haven't met with anyone to go over specifics, and she's just replied to my email saying they usually meet with couples in January (only 4 months before our wedding) to go over things and then another meeting 8 week before.
Does this sound about right to you?

Yeah I think that's exactly right. Our venue said they won't need to speak to us until 2016 so one meeting will be in Feb when half of our balance is due then again 4 weeks before when the final payment is due.

Sounds about right to me, there's no reason why you'd need to speak to them any earlier. Remember they have lots of weddings before yours which do take priority. I've not spoken to mine since booking with them which was over a year ago now - except for the odd email here and there to ask questions. But we don't expect to meet with them until much nearer the time!

We only had one final details meeting about ten weeks before the date. The co-ordinator was always willing to be contacted if we had questions, but we only had one sit-down meeting.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
We met with the co-ordinator when we looked at the venue and booked. We 'very roughly' talked numbers and timings but we don't need to meet with her again now until 6 weeks before the wedding to confirm menu choices, numbers and timings and all the finer details etc x x

We had a meeting when we booked and paid deposit, a meeting 6 months later when the coordinator changed (8 months before the wedding) then the final details meeting 5 weeks before.

We kept in email contact from when we booked but didn't properly meet up until approximately 10 weeks before then again at 6 weeks or 4 weeks before for final details.

Our wedding coordinator has been in touch by email and phone with any question we have, she said after our initial meeting when we booked would be December we would hear from her again, then 6 months before and then in the weeks leading up to the weeding xx

I'm fine with waiting until January, its just when we first booked the venue we spoke to someone who worked for the owner, all we got was a quote and then we paid our deposit. But since then the person we originally spoke to has left, and the only way I'm sort of keeping up to date with the kind of things they're doing is by having them on bookface and seeing all the different weddings. Its such a DIY type of venue that I have tons of ideas I want to do to the place and just can't wait to get my ideas out haha xx

Maybe send them an email explaining that you would like to meet new coordinator and to talk through your ideas so you can get organised. They might be willing to speak to tou
