    Hiya everyone,

Started wedding dress shopping today! Exciting stuff. I tried on a bunch of gorgeous dresses today but was pretty horrified to see the price tags. My fave of the day was LB19 from the Lou Lou bridal collection. The boutique I visited costs it at £990 which I really don't want to pay for something I'm never going to wear again and just sell straight after the wedding :/ it just isn't me to spend that much on a dress and even though my parents are paying and my mum insists it's fine I still feel like I need to be true to myself! SO I have been looking for a secondhand one online but no luck so far :( Can anyone help?? I'm a size 8 by the way but obviously could get it taken in if it was a bigger size.

    Thanks,

    Maddy

Hi there if you find the dress on the Lou Lou official website and click on where to buy, it comes up with loads of shops for each county, you could contact each one, to find out how much they are selling it for. You might drop lucky as my dress is costing 500 but when I did I search other shops are selling it for 750 upwards. Worth the time and effort if you find it cheaper :)

They prob wont be the only supplier to stock that dress ring done local shops check gumtree etc but depends on how long it's been out if its brand new its less likely you'll get one just yet x

I had a browse on websites and cant find many second hand ones. They ones I found on pr3lov3ed are a size 18-20 so would be too big to take in I would imagine.

Yeah I saw them too but I think that's too big :( thanks for your help everyone! I've got an appointment at another bridal boutique tomorrow that also stocks Lou Lou dresses so I might see something else I like/the same dress at a lower price who knows :P but thanks for your idea of ringing round places you're right it would be worth it if I really want that dress by the end of all the trying stuff on so I will remember that!

I know it's too big on the preloved site but could you have it dried cleaned and taken in? See what's in the other shops first though just incase good luck x

What area are you in chick? I found some beautiful Dessy bridesmaid dresses but just couldn't afford to buy them so I took a picture to a dressmaker and she is making them for me at a much lower price, I also get to choose the exact colour and material I want this way and can add or take away anything to the design.

I can pop a link on my wall if you like?

I know I could get a bigger dress taken in but is it not a bit extreme to take in a size 18 to a size 8? I don't know much about this kind of thing just worry it would end up looking a bit dodgey all the proportions and stuff having to change so much!

I did think about getting a dress made I just assumed that would also be super expensive! I live in Liverpool :)

That's not too far away, might be worth you giving her a ring to see if she can help you out.

If you'd go on her website you can see bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses that she has made and they are all beautiful, she also has a page on the book of face, I'll pop that on my wall to. (Can't get on yours as it is restricted)

Hope you get sorted Hun xxxx

    Hi Maddy,

I am looking to sell my wedding dress (LB19 from the Lou Lou bridal collection) in a size 12. Would you be interested? I also have a 72" narrow ribbon edge two tier veil with comb (Richard Designs) which would be included. The dress has been fully dry cleaned. Please let me know if you would like me to send you some photographs of the dress.

    Chloe
