Hello, We have an appointment booked to visit London Zoo as a potential wedding venue. Just wondering if anyone else has visited/got married there! I'm trying not to set my heart on it and am expecting for it not to be perfect (pessimist!) Thanks, S

I really wanted to get married there! But the costs and logistics just didn't work for us :( Let us know how you get on!

Logistically it will work, costs wise however... thats my concern!
CommentAuthorleasa
We looked at this!
Cost wise was ok, but time wise was not. You can't stay there all evening so have to get a second venue for later.
We found the same with the deck at south bank and Kensington roof garden too, all of them you had to be out by 21:00 or earlier!!!!

Really? Thats interesting because their website says until 11pm. Will make sure to ask. Thanks!
It was nearly 2 years ago, so they might have changed the times, but we decided on a hotel up the road in Camden instead, I loved the idea of having "meet the animals" at the reception.

That'd be cool! Apart from if you don't like animals or were allergic to them lol. But seriously a wedding there would be fun!
Wonder how much it costs.

If they've changed the timings it would be perfect, it's beautiful in the wedding suites, and such a unique place.

Thanks everyone and thanks Leasa- prices are the same on the info she sent me, but times are different so hopefully they've acted on feedback and changed them. VERY excited now! I go to see them in less than two weeks. I will let you know how it goes!

H2b's cousin is getting married in Twycross zoo next year. Sounds like an awesome idea although I'd be so worried wearing a gorgeous wedding dress that is also zoo appropriate. Good luck x
CommentAuthorShaunaH58
I visited yesterday with my mum, it's amazing! I was worried it would be too novelty or not enough emphasis on getting married, but I said to my mum after "it's like where you'd want to get married, but you're at the zoo!" Got to take my OH and see what he thinks. Then think money!

Ahhh that is lovely, lets hope hubby2b likes it as well as much as you do.

We loved it, but decided not to book it as its a bit too expensive for us. Its a stunning room with lots of fun included in the wedding. Depending on your budget its definitely worth a look.
