What kind of church? Church of England will let you normally but you'll have trouble with a catholic church.

Hi most churches want you both to be but it depends on what type of church you are getting married in the catholic church can be very strickt when it comes to this so i would speak to the minister/priest and see what they say x

You should be ok with CofE. :0) They relaxed the rules a while ago to allow more people to get married in church.
We wasnt asked if we were christened, so I dont think it will be a problem x

I was christened and h2b wasnt. So he was baptised at easter, and we went to confirmation classes and both were confirmed about a month ago x

usually with C of E you have to have one of the criteria to get married there
one is one of you was christened there parents or grandparents were married there you live in the parish you have worshipped there for more than 6 months

i had this trouble with the churches in my area. because there are about 4 churches in about 3 mile radius the parishes for them are really small. we dont like our parish church so were marrying in mil2b's parish church. its 40 minute drive but its worth it

when we phoned our vicar we could never get an answer so i told h2b to phone again in half hr if we hadnt heard back. luckily he answered on the next call lol.

the vicar told us its approx £500 and that includes the organist. if we want the bells its an extra £85. not sure how much everything else is. were having the flowers that are supplied to the church so it saves us money on them. as h2b says theres no point in paying for something thats already going to be there.lol.

i think most churches are about that but some have been a bit more expensive. it would be so much better if they just had a set price lol

we live in one parish but marrying in another the one we are marrying in is where h2b was christened and his parents married and his brother is training to be a lay reader lol our chruch fees are £474.50 to the church we are marrying in and £38 to our parish church for the banns to be read there
