Me again, I'm thinking about different dates, and was thinking of a July 1st 2017 wedding! My friend said that July is usually great weather, so as I really have my heart set on an outdoor ceremony, I was wondering if anybody else could let me know what the weather was like on their wedding day?

so far for the last 2 years weather has always been great on my date 28 july, hoping for good weather for a outdoor ceremony too. but always make a plan B as British weather can not be predicted, even the day before, this year the weather predicted for my town carnival 12 July, we disastrous all week including on the day but was lovely the whole time

You can never predict the weather though unfortunately, we did have a great July but I believe it was from mid July for a few weeks? Imagine how much ppl would pay for great weather. I've found the weather better in may and September x

5th July this year was glorious - guests got sunburn. All the week running up to it was heavy downpours between constant rain and drizzle - awful! Two weeks later (our original date) it was horrendous weather again - we just got lucky!

Historically July is wetter than June, that is why we went with June, but it's very much hit and miss and crossed fingers for dry weather!

Personally I wouldn't ever pick a date based on which months are 'hotter'. My sister got married in August 2011 and it rained. My brother in law got married June this year and I was freezing and it started to rain on the morning. There is no set weather for any particular month. So here says the girl getting married in April! I would only expect rain to be relieved if we/you were surprised with a gorgeous day then you're not disappointed. Make sure you have a backup plan.

I'm getting married in september next year and we were between a church or our venue have a gorgeous wedding island that you get married outside (we can put a gazebo up) but its a tough one because if we choose the outside we are gambling with the weather. this year in september seemed to be mostly nice where i live so i have my fingers crossed!!

I'm trying to think of backup plans, but as I'm hoping for an outdoor ceremony in gardens, I really don't know how well we would be able to pull this off if the weather was less than great! I was hoping for an outdoor wedding breakfast, but I have got a backup for that, as if we do have the venue that I have my eye on, it would comfortably accommodate all of our guests, but it's mainly the ceremony bit that I'm really worried about, especially as that's the most important bit, along with photos, and I kind of begrudge paying out over £1000 for the gardens when we can't guarantee anything! Just feels a little bit risky! Xx

If your planning on getting married in Gardens in England,Norther Ireland or Wales, you must have a permanent structure to get married in, like a purgerla which has a floor and roof. in scotland you can get married more or less anywhere including a beach with no need for permanent structures. But if these gardens meet this criteria, are the gardens attached to some kind of estate? etc, that if needed your wedding could be moved into if weather was bad? as when you give notice it is for the venue, so if the it is the gardens of a stately house , it would be classed as same venue, so can use the same notice. like we are having ours in the garden of a country house, but if the weathers bad can have it within the hotel.

Well there is a permanent structure, but it's a stone pergola type, but the Manor house is a family home (lucky them) so isn't open to the public! I will try and speak to the lady today and see what she says about their back up plan, as they must have one in place, surely? X
