Wedding Forum - July 2015 Brides...

Oh my God, what a nightmare! Were you going for traditional wedding cake/fruit cake or a tiered sponge? And where abouts do you live? I only ask because if you're anywhere near me (London/Surrey way) I know of a few places that can do cakes at fairly short notice.

I'm starting to worry a little bit as well, as we are having our rings designed (as my engagement ring was a twisted band, so no shop bought wedding rings sat right with it) so I had to leave my engagement ring at the shop. They were meant to have the rings ready last week, but we have not heard anything and every time my OH has tried phoning up he can't get through to anybody! I was going to pop in at the weekend but the shop was already shut. Hopefully everything is okay but I can't help but keep expecting something to go wrong at some point!

Oh no Amanda. That sucks, they should not have done that to you, if they said they were going to do it, they should honour that, not leave you with 5 wild to go, to tell you there not doing it. That is stood, or they should have already phoned around a few places and found out some prices , availability etc to give you when she told you.

Actually guna pay room decos this week then i can concentrate on saving for alterations!

Im going to see if I can sort something over the weekend, I have a few work colleagues who have recommended some other people so im going to try my luck with them, just hope I don't have to compromise so much on what I was wanting in regards to price. as a back up ive been looking at M&S

After having a mini panic attack due to checking my paper work and realising the payment for the registra should have been paid 4 weeks adagio . :S managed to get hold of them after and hour of trying. And is all paid now. Thank goodness.

Yeah I know. Cars in for mot today, and I know the brakes need doing, hoping it does not cost to much. Oh needs it by Tuesday to use to go on his stag.

Luckily i dont need place cards as its more of an evening reception we arent being served a meal just 2 different buffets. A small snack then a big hot n cold later

Im going to see new hair dresser today as had a disaster the other day. Red looks like it needs doing again and the blonde is yellowy silver shampoo has toned it a bit bt it was meant to be like really light bot brght lol :-/

So im nt happy n 8 weeks to go im wondering if theres nt enuff time to find someone else (cos i only planned on 1 more cut n colour rly cnt afford an extra 50quid either n it may also ruin my hair) :-(

Visited a recomended salon i had 3 hair dressers round me rippin into my hair tellin me how bad it is lol!! Great :-/ oh n i didnt even say out they knew i was comin she said sit down let me.see

Shes told me to pop in monday to sort it all out at a bit of a discount she said its easy fixed but u wusnt think id just had it done..
also booked my trial in with her she even cancled a personal app she had(as shes going away for the weekend) so she cud fit me in as its my only free day that week... i instantly felt at ease as i walked in!

I will have to go to salon on the day for my hair -saves us £10 per person - only me n mam but i think £25 each is enuff and it gives us a break from the craziness of the house lol its 5 min away so not bad she sais itll take half an hr an hr max each (the last 1 said an hour-hr n half each)

Im feelin good :-) ill let u know monday what my hairs like lol..

Amanda i cnt recomend HD brows enuff but i suggest getting brows done a few days before if u r going for hd or tinting id give it a few days to calm.down mine r done tuesday i get married friday.
Im getting individual volume lashes for the wedding (im trying them on tuesday i cnt wait i tred normal individuals and they werent very effective with makeup only noticed them without makeup on)

If your trying them soon u can always say nxt time either darken them or tone them down :-) i love my hd brows.. just b careful exfoliating cleansing n toning does take the dye off them alot quicker so avoid brows when doing that lol x :-)

I know 8 weeks n i hate my hair its nt good blonde tricky to mess with really bt they assured me theyll sort it asap :-)

Glad you got the registar sorted, Whovian, I can't imagine how stressful that must have been! I have to thank you for posting about that as well, as your post made me go through and check the dates I need to pay off all my suppliers - I nearly missed the car payment! Sorted for another couple of weeks until we have to part with more cash!

Glad you got your cake sorted, Amanda. We had a bit of an annoyance with our cake shop over the traditional wedding fruit cake. The shop we wanted to go to makes the most gorgeous sponge cakes with fresh cream, my OH, family and I are all obsessed with their cakes lol. We decided we wanted to have the cake to be split, one tier wedding fruit cake, one tier choc sponge and one tier vanilla so we were going for the cakes which are set on three different platforms, off centre from one another... got to the cake shop and the guy is telling me that fruit cake will not go nice with the icing I wanted, we would need the fresh cream covering it, I was like what?! Turns out their version of "fruit cake" is the sponge cake with the jam/jelly covered chopped fruit placed on top! Anyway, luckily I found that out before ordering it! Now we are having a three tier sponge (2 vanilla, 1 choc) and my aunt is doing the fruit cake (she had started a massive 4 tier one for her 50th wedding anniversary party, but that had to be cancelled as she wasn't too well so she is going to be finishing the biggest tier from that for us... apparently she has to have time to "feed" the cake?!) and will be matching the decorations to the cake we ordered from the shop. Then my partner's friend is making us a load of liqueur cupcakes, so our guests will have cake overload at our wedding!

50 days for me today.
Oh goes on his stag on Tuesday.

Love my new hair! Wish i found these before thursday gone! Re cut red took 2 goes cos my hair didnt tske 1st one and blonde is lovely! So happy fewlin much better

Well my oh left for his stag yesterday. And dd had started being a right pain. She keeps on asking for her daddy. Is great breaking. Last time he went away she was still a little baby.

I would let him go but say as its so close he needs to take i easy. Luckily my h2bs stah is the day after we r at a weddimg so he wont wanna drink too much lol and also hes been told he must be home as we have 2 kods im.nt doin it all on my own for yet anothet weekend when we r so busy (his is 18th we narry 32st so not too bsd bt he wudnt be home)

Just make sure he knows that week he needs a clear head so say either go out with whoever can or take it easy (and if he agreed i hope he means it!!) The week of our wedding is so hectic bt h2b doesnt drive so its all on me :-(

Hopefully he says he will go.the weekend already planned lol...
yea its a bit of a nightmare! Specially as hes the 1 who works (25+ mile away) and if his lift isnt in hes stuck at his mams away from us

Nm lol xx he hasnt been involved in much plannin either tbh ive tried as the wedding is NOT what i wanted so rly he shud of gave me more insight into what it is he wanted. Its been guess work ans tryna keep every1 else happy and made myself miserable in the process lol

Havin a girly night this weekend tho at mams for bridesmaids hair and makeup trials so will make it for it then wine n pizza :-) i have favour boxs to put together this is my only free time i can do it!

Ive booked russian volume lashes (they r fuller than what i have in the picture) they look quite natural atm as if i was wearing mascara so i want a bit more of a fuller look. Cnt wait for them 28th july lol x along with my pedi (and regular hd brow review)

Thats great Amanda. I'm going to try and call my Seemstress tomorrow, to see if the designers have been in touch with advice on how is best to bustle my dress.
