Wedding Forum - July 2015 Brides...

Hi ladies, I just wanted to pop in and wish everybody good luck on their final countdowns! I can't believe where the last few weeks have gone, and I have been so busy with my sister and her family over from Australia, work and, of course, the last few bits of planning for the wedding. I have had this week off work and have been able to sit back a little, making the final few calls to confirm times and addresses. Today and tomorrow we are just sorting out the table decorations and beautifying ourselves, then that is it until the big day on Saturday!

I hope that every other July bride's wedding goes brilliantly and I look forward to seeing all of the photos xx

well our sten went well on saturday, had fun, drank way to much and had a massive hangover. oh was ok tho.

went to have my 2nd dress fitting today, dress is lush, she just needs to do the bustle, all the diamonte detail has been added.
but before i went in i managed to break my nail, rip it right off. so its all wrapped up now for a couple days to heal before i need to see my nail artist and take the acrylic off the nail (which is going to kill) and see what she can salvage. hopefully will grow out a bit in the next week and a half before i was due to get my wedding nails done.

I was the same as you on our day, in that I didn't have any nerves or anything until the cars arrived - they were early and then I realised at 12.15 (for a 1pm ceremony) that the buttonholes were all still at the house and not at the church! We had a couple of little hiccups as well; the photographer we booked was not well so sent another guy in his place, who was then an hour late arriving, and then made us late to the church because he started trying to take loads of pictures 20 mins before the ceremony was due to start. When I protested he said "okay, but this is more important"... I thought the point of the day was to get married, but no, apparently it is taking some pretty pictures instead!

Other than a few problems with the photographer through the day (my husband had to have a word with him at one point because instead of just asking me to move somewhere he would grab my arm and pull me) we had a really good day. The ceremony went really well (although I ended up in a crying / laughing fit at the alter and nearly set the vicar off as well!), the choir we booked (as we had some more obscure hymns) were brilliant - one ended up being my brother's neighbour! The reception venue looked so beautiful when I arrived, I received so many complements about how good the food was, and the staff and owner of the place came down to have a dance and a couple of drinks with us towards the end of the night. The DJ we hired was perfect, he kept everybody thoroughly entertained, and he also came out to do some bodypopping with us on the dance floor (I think he even gave my cousin the dirty dancing lift at one stage!) We also had an adult sized bouncy castle and loads of outdoor games so it kept all the kids (and most of the adults!) entertained all day/evening, which was brilliant as from ceremony until the end of the reception it was a 12 hour day (longer for those who traveled a long way so got there quite early), and it was nice for the parents to relax without worrying about finding bits for the kids to do. Apart from the few problems with the photographer, we were both really pleased with how the day and evening went, it was such a happy day. The only downside, really, was the end of the night when we were starting to clear our prezzies and bits, the best man decided to be an absolute d***, started an argument with my sister (also my maid of honour), really upsetting her then disappeared off. When we found out we were absolutely fuming but he had already sloped off so we couldn't even say anything to him, so that kind of ruined the wedding night for us as we were just so angry with him, and the fact that such a wonderful time was ruined because the best man couldn't even be polite like a normal person for one day. We are all going to be together again on Saturday for our Indian blessing, so I am going to tell my husband to keep him well out of my way because if I see him I will have it out with him!

Wow I can't believe tomorrow I've been married a week!

It was an amazing day and I was so chilled out everyone said they have never seen such a chilled bride lol we've had calls all week saying it was the best wedding ever!
The cathedral was beautiful nd the venue was wow! Then at 4:30 we had the red arrows and national air show in front of the museum so was perfect viewing and amazing pics!

I'm still on cloud 9 with the whole thing x x
