I am just wondering if any of you are having a joint groom and bride speech?
Me and H2B do not have the confidence to stand and do a speech in front of everyone so thought it would be nice to do it toghether that way we still say thank you to everyone for coming etc.
If you are how would you start it etc?

Although even if it's joint you would not get me standing up in front of 100 people to do a speech! A presentation at work to 100 people, yep no problem, a speech at my wedding? ..................NO WAY!
Maybe start off the opener in the usual way but being joint you say "my husband and I" followed by the obigatory cheers, then he says "my wife and I" followed by double cheers! "Would like to thank you all ....................." etc. etc. However, don't you want him to thank you for agreeing to marry you and how gorgeous you look and how you've made him the happiest man in the universe?

I'm doing a speech with h2b, we're not having a best man and my dad won't be there, so I'll be doing the fob and groom part, he'll be taking the BM speech only he plans on turning the tables and telling a short story on each of the wedding party.
I plan on starting with "I know this is normally the point when the brides father would speak, however I don't need a man to tell me how amazing I am or how beautiful I look, I checked myself out in the mirror this morning!". We're only having close family and friends, so they'll get the humour in it. I'm hoping they'll laugh/groan and it will boost my confidence to continue.
If only life could be one long tea break
