    Hi Everyone

This is my first post so hope I do things correctly. Me and my partner are doing things slightly different and we are going to pick an engagement ring before he proposes (weird I know). We have been told there are some really good deals to be had in the Jewellery Quarter and I just wondered if you could give any recommendations of places that are good and maybe not so good (if that is allowed?)
    Thanks in advance

Hi MrsH2B and welcome. If you unrestrict your profile people will be able to send you friend requests and private messages and also post links to your wall as links are not allowed in the forum.

This may help you find suitable places in your area.

I don't have Jewellery Quarter recs as I'm London-based so used a company in Hatton Garden, but just wanted to say congrats on your upcoming engagement :-)

Also, just a tip: if you're getting a diamond ring, make sure you educate yourself on the 4Cs and try to work out what your priorities are (it would probably be useful to see diamonds in different colours etc in person so you can get an idea). The 1 C I won't compromise on is cut: I wouldn't go below an excellent cut. Otherwise, I can be flexible. It'd def worth reading up on though as they all affect the price significantly, and it's good to know what you're getting :-)

We ordered our wedding rings from there a couple of weeks ago. I'd recommend going to a few in the quarter and getting quotes before ordering as the prices can vary quite a bit! Xxx
