but as i'm nAugust 2012, is it too early? my mum thinks it is, but i think all i want to see is her portfolio and have her ideas! the day after my appointment me and mum will be at the NEC wedding show so we'll have more ideas

Never to early to get ideas, although they make not tke the booking yet. However its up to the supplier! Our florist didn''t want any final decisions on flowers until a few weeks before hand, so we could change our minds if we wanted to.
Now a extremely happy German housewife and now a Mother!!!!

hmm, maybe a little early. I was Sept 2012 until recently and hadnt even thought about bookin anyone yet. I did however want to know other peoples prices for fresh flowers so that I could see if I had enough in my budget.
by now I'm getting married next Nov, I am gonna wait until this Nov to go in and see what is in season, cause I now only have 1 top table and 2 guest tables to dress in my new tiny wedding I think we can manage fresh flowers for the tables!

you should enjoy your meeting however early it is. it will help you in thinking about ideas but you will also be able to meet more florists in that time.

as im off to the wedding show in october she's told me to get lots of ideas and build a flower scrap book ready for our meeting xx

I would have thought that she would have wanted to pencil you in as most florists that I have been to have bookings for the next two years and some of them are really hard to get. Yes you need to get ideas of what you like but you can do that within minutes with a google image search and copy and paste. The florist is there to help you with what is in season (to save you money) and how to cut costs but still get the look you want. They can also help you with colours and types of flowers. I would still find another florist to talk to and give you quotes etc for what you have in mind just to give you a good idea of what you need to budget for etc. Its never too early to decide on what you want.
