I've just been and picked up our cake ready for Saturday and its perfect! I can't believe it, I've been so worried that the colours wouldn't be right or the topper wouldn't be what I wanted but she's done a fantastic job :o) It's probably a bit bright for some people's tastes but we both think its gorgeous - if not quite as sophisticated as the one the design was taken from! haha I've put the pictures in my cake album if you fancy a nosey xxxxx
ps. Can anyone think of anything I'll definitely need for saturday that I may have forgotten? My head is a shed at the moment and I just can't think straight at all! I'm sure I'm going to forget something, or lots of somethings! haha

aww why not? i love orange! :o) Our colour scheme is cerise and turquoise but the flowers are cerise and orange so that's why we went with the orange on the cake too xx

Looks fantastic!! Hmm a friend of mine gave the best man a pack for the day, with contact numbers, a run time schedule, contact details of the suppliers etc. Have you sorted taxi numbers for guests when they want to leave, organised dropping anything off at the venue before the ceremony, got your music player sorted for the ceremony and first dance if you need it, hmmm other than that I'd think you'd be pretty sorted by now :-)

Your cake is gorgeous!! As for forgetting anything - I'm sure you've got everything covered, but one tip we learned on our wedding day - make sure you (or one of the guests) carry emergency things like safety pins etc. Our bm stepped on her dress while dancing and ripped the bottom of her dress. Luckily my auntie had an emergency sewing kit with her and pinned the dress discreetly lol.
Also, umbrellas. We got married in August but it still rained lol. We forgot ours but luckily the venue were prepared and let us borrow some for pics etc.
And take a deep breath, try to stay calm and remember the day goes so quick so enjoy it - and make some 'you' time as a married couple.
Your venue looks lovely as well. Where are you getting married?

thanks everyone! I thought it may be a bit too 'in your face' for some people but I absolutely love the colours - although even I was a little suprised at how bright it was when I collected it! ha :o) The flavours are nothing special, victoria sponge on the bottom, chocolate in the middle and lemon on top. I just hope it tastes as good as it looks! Thanks for the advice Mym - I actually bought some turquoise umbrellas with pink pompoms to match the colour scheme, so will be taking those - I almost hope it drizzles a little just so I have an excuse to use them as they're so cute! Glad you like the venue, its the Pavilion Hotel in York - its nothing fancy I suppose but it feels a bit like a boutique hotel on the inside so we like it :o) xxxxx
