I'm thinking about Save the Dates and I really want to send them but I'm wondering if it's worth it (we want to send out magnetic ones - 60p each) when we're going to be sending out invitations out as well??

We are sending save the date cards with our christmas cards, purely because we are getting married in July just before the school holidays and lots of our family and friends tend to go on holiday before the children break up. Also I was very excited about our wedding and wanted to do something that I could hold in my hand. I think we paid about £30 for 20 which we equated would be a night out. So no xmas party for me this year lol

I'm in 2 minds. I really want to but at the same time I'm cautious re:money. It would be ideal to send them now but I can't buy or decide on anything until H2B gets back and my parents and his have sat down and discussed the budget. I've found some really beautiful magnets, though.. hmmmm

we sent ours out due to the fact we are getting married in Aug which is peak holiday season, and we are getting married on a sunday so people will need to take the Mon off work. It all depends on whether or not you feel people are going to need notice to ensure they cazn come. We felt they were worthwhile. Defo stick the magnets on, we did and instead of them getting stuffed in a drawer, we now see them pretty much in everyones houses on the fridge :) It is cheaper to add your own magnets. On bay of e there are some very small but OMG powerful magnets that you just simply glue on yourself with super glue. Saved a packet.

Ahh I see - I was looking at magnets on Bay of e..
We have a lot of family spread across the UK, USA, Aus and Europe so might be a necessity.
I definitely wanted magnets so that they wouldnt be stuffed in a drawer and forgotten about. It might be that I buy some smaller than a6 card and make/order a stamp that has all the details on and just buy some embelishments? does that make sense?

I sent them out but only as i live and getting married in Cornwall and all my family are either travelling from Scotland or Norfolk so i wanted to give people plenty of warning x

ah if family are having to travel then defo. We sent ours for this reason too as crewe is an hours drive away for most and it meant then that ppl could look at accomodation earlier on and save a little as accomodation is normally cheaper the earlier you book it

we sent them, just cuz alot of our family and friends book hols well in advance and we wanted to get them booked in. it was too early to send invitations so save the dates were perfect!

we are sending them with our christmas cards as alot of our family are all over the place so it gives the ones who live further away a chance to think about hotels and travel etc x
