I've been to 6 venues already and we only got engaged on 13th feb 2010. He doesnt like the sound of one so I've ruled that out but is it too early to be looking at venues? I really thought us girls had to be the organised ones you see!!! PLEASE HELP ME!!!! xxx Stefanie xxx

I don't think it's at all too early - I think its best to sort out the venue/church stuff as soon as poss, then you know what you're working towards. I'm getting married 3rd Dec 2011 and I've booked it all already. I'm not planning on buying anything else for a while yet though!

I do not think there is any problem with getting the serious stuff looked into PRONTO!

The earlier you see them the better chance you can book the day you want! I say go look!

Always best to look early, get deposits n early because when you find the one you want & wait too long you'll be gutted if it goes!

Its also useful to find out what you both like..... I liked places like zoos and boats, Pidge liked more traditional venues- we went for a small hotel.

I wanted Warwick Castle always a dream to be a real princess but Anthony immediately thought hed look a pratt so thats gone!!! Beautiful stately homes and hotels are on the list! We are lucky living near Stratford upon Avon, there are lots of beautiful places near by x thanks for all your comments. guess hes just gonna have to get used to the fact that I am always RIGHT! lol x

I was looking at venues before we'd even set a date - now THAT is organised lol
Get all your big stuff done sooner rather than later - but be warned, because it's more than 6 months away h2b probably won't understand why you're looking hehe

I'd love Warwick Castle.........take him to see it, you never know, he might feel differently ;)

we've been and looked at local venues,we decided on Redworth Hall and booked it on sunday- its never too early as then u know what ur letting urself in for cost wise xx get looking n find ur perfect one xx

What you'll find is that men have a really fixed idea in their head about things like venues, if you want one he's doesn't think he's fond of then drag him round and sell the idea - give him a big picture of it's potential :)

We're not getting married til Summer 2012 and have already viewed 2 venues, going to view the 3rd soon (which is the one I LOVE)

It's never too early, the earlier you look, the better idea of your budget you'll get - that's what's helping us work out ours anyway lol

Like Shellay said, if the places are popular it's better to book early

hey Steffie! it's definitely not too early to book as we've booked for September 2012 and as other girls have been saying it is amazing how things book up so quick! a good thing about it too which we found is that our venue is guaranteeing us next years prices so you never know you could get a deal like that too :) x

i would book as soon as pos, we booked our venue in the begining of january and we had to have it on a sunday cos there was no other dates avalible, so book as soon as you can and you can get the date or day you really want :-)

never too early... we have decided on our venue, n luckily for us they dont ask for a certain amount as a deposit, cos they only really do work functions :o) so we can pay it off when we have extra money eyc.. so in 6months we'll have our venue booked n pid off :o)

Never too early, we got engaged at the start of April and 3 weeks after we had our venue booked and deposit paid. If you are after a Sat wedding in the summer months they get snaped up fast. We only had 5 Sats to choose from :-) xx
