Hi, I'm due to get married in 2018 and have been trying to get everything organised this year ready to just pay things off next year. I've already brought thank you presents for everybody and I've started to think about what I could give my groom on the day. My groom sadly lost his dad 7 years ago when he was only 20 and I only met his dad briefly once. I would love to get my groom something special on the day that relates to his dad. Have any other brides he experience of this situation that could share any special gifts or things they done on the day they could share for inspiration? x

What about a pocket watch he can wear on the day and have a picture of his dad on the inside? That way his dad can be right beside him when he has it in his pocket x

What a lovely idea Kathleen.
Great idea Nicole. A friends wedding we went to he had lost his mum and he had a lovely candle made with a small poem on it and lit the candle once he was married.
You could always find a really nice photo of you OH and his Dad pop it in a really nice frame with a little poem or reading, something along the lines of forever in our hearts maybe.
Or if his dad had a favourite drink buy it your OH to toast on the day.

Thanks for the replies girls.
He is not one for jewellery usually but the pocket watch idea could work, it would be nice to get him something that he can keep and I have seen some nice personalised ones. He does have one picture of him and his dad in the house which I'll have to 'borrow' when his out one day.

When I did my hubby's groom box, I printed out a pic of his late granddad and added some text to it saying that he would be looking down on him and would be very proud of him. Something small but it was a nice touch and he really loved it x
