It is currently forcast heavy rain on my wedding day:( With just over a week to go I am struggling to convince myself it may change. If we were getting married in a church it might not bother me so much but we had planned on getting married outside at our venue. Its a beautiful setting. They have an indoor ceremony room but it just isnt the same. Absolutely no point to this but I thought you ladies may understand how I feel.

Steph I'm getting married tomorrow and it will rain. I didn't even risk the outside venue as we live in South Wales!! All I can say is that you have a plan B, and that in the scheme of things the weather won't really matter. You can't control it so just accept it and enjoy the rest of it. Good luck xx

Ok, you're wedding is 8 days away... believe it or not nothing is for sure until about 3 days before the event. Meteorologists avoid making long term forecasts but can do a guess and that's all it is and its based on current patterns and patterns from previous years. So don't panic!

Definately have a plan B in place just in case so speak to the venue and see what can be done.

It's also suppose to be good luck and also if it does, leave something outside to collect the rain and later seal it in a bottle or vial as a keepsake of the rain that fell on your wedding day.

What Victoria said: weather forecasts are SO inaccurate a week out! I find they can change even daily (eg I looked on Monday, and it was supposed to be mostly sunny on Wednesday; come Tuesday it had changed to mostly cloudy (which it was). So, don't stress too much at this stage :-)

If it does rain, just have a contingency plan; like maybe you could get some extra decorations for the indoor space to make it prettier, or more outdoorsy? (eg a few plants/bay trees). You can also have so much fun with the rain in photos: think brightly coloured brollies and wellies, etc :-)

I NEVER rely on the weather forecast. A few weeks ago we were due hailstones and thunder and lightning, and the day it was expected I got sunburn!! (I'm in the north east) About a week later it did eventually hailstone. Only time I would live by the weather is when its a different country!

...which is why my spare wardrobe has been stuffed full of clear dome umbrellas from the land of pound for our guests.
Hope it doesn't rain all the same - I bought a chiffon dress to replace my satin one because of the forecast heat wave - wtf happened to that?!?! >:-(

Please don't worry! The weather is one thing you cannot control and you're day will be perfect whether it's raining or sunny, inside or outside. On the day it will be the least of your worries - all you will want to is marry your man! x

I wouldn't start to trust the forecast until about a day or 2 before. I have weather apps on my phone, and one day it forecast gorgeous sun all day for the NEXT day, and it was totally different

It might be worth planning some decorations for the indoor room just in case. You never know, the rain may hold off at just the right point, or it might dry up enough for you to get some photos done. You can never rely on an outdoor venue, whatever the time of year.

I know the feeling hun but unfortunately that's British weather for you.

It rained on our wedding day but we still managed to get our gorgeous photos outside and without getting my shoes and dress dirty! No idea how we managed it, we were lucky I guess as it stopped for us at all the crucial moments.

A week is a long time for weather forecasts to change. Take yesterday for example, where I am it was supposed to be cool, cloudy and chucking it down with rain all day! Well what can I say, it was warm, dry and really bright and sunny, that's the last time I take notice of the weather forecast ..................that was the forecast given the day before!

So since I posted I have been constantly checking the weather and with 24 hours to go its now saying it will be cloudy but sunny no rain! It has been hit and miss all week so I was really excited about getting wed out doors but when i rang the venue about dropping things off he said we need to have a serious talk about the weather. When i mentioned the forecast he said we should still consider that outdoors may not be possible and need to discuss this later on today. For a couple months now we have been getting the feeling that the venue are more bothered about making their jobs easier rather than pleasing us and this just adds to it. I know it is ALOT more work to set up outside as they wind white roses round the garden furniture and make it look beautiful but that is why we booked with them. If it isnt forcast rain when i see them at 5pm then we are having it outside! I just dont want to upset the venue. Our whole day is resting in their hands!
