Hi Ladies.. I am in a real pickle here! I bought my wedding ring 6 months ago at a great price £235 down from £590. At the time I loved it. I waited 6 weeks for it to be specially made and was super excited when I picked it up. Problem is now I have had second thoughts about it for a few weeks and it's been playing on my mind that much that I have actually taken a disliking to my ring! :( I'm contemplating selling my ring and buying a new one but I don't want to lose a lot of money on it :( And also the wedding is in 3 weeks time so I don't have a lot of time on my hands to sort something. Has anyone else ever changed their mind on their ring at the last minute. If so what did you do? I really need some help with this one!!

Hmmm... Kirsten, that's got to be frustrating and distracting. I would probably not sell it.. it represents a moment in time when you loved and picked out that ring...there will be memories and feelings that ring will remind you of. I think you can always think about buying yourself a new ring for your 5th anniversary (or have ur partner do it!!) but this is your engagement ring...

I wouldn't sell it. You had a reason to chose it, you fell in love with it. Just try to think about something else, and keep the ring away from your eyes until the big day! I'm pretty sure that if you only see it again on the emotion of the ceremony, it's gonna be even more special and you're gonna feel connected to it again. :)

It's a difficult one. This is the ring you are planning on wearing for the rest of your life, so you need to be happy with it. Try to be totally clear on why you're not happy with it before you contemplate changing it. Then you need to think about whether a different ring is actually the answer. If it is you will have to be happy with one from the high street.

Honestly, do what makes you happy! If you have 100% really thought about it, and have decided that you don't like it, then keep it, and hand it down to any future children you may decide to have, then buy a really cheap one off the high street for your nuptials, and maybe out any money that you get as a Wedding gift towards a ring that you're truly happy with! I know EXACTLY how you feel, but imagine it's with an engagement ring that your FH picked, not you, then Imagine how guilty you would feel if it was THAT ring you didn't like..yup, it's a horrible feeling. You will end up regretting your decision if you decide not to get a ring you really love, as you won't want to show it off proudly, and it will dampen your sparkle! Xx

Is it definitely the ring you're worried about or is it other things that are stressing you out and making you doubt the choices you've made? I also have 3 weeks to go and feeling very stressed (mainly caused by other people) but it's causing me to feel a bit down about certain parts of the day. I'm sure I'll be fine when it gets to a few days before but feeling rubbish at the moment!!

If it is the wedding ring that you are definitely unsure about then you would probably need to buy one directly from a high street store as I think it's probably a bit late now to have one made. Do you have any pictures at all of the rings together?

    Big hug hun Xxx

I was also going to ask if it's the ring or other pressures building up and making you question if the ring is wrong. Is it unusual and that's the problem? Xx

I think its a bit if everything. I'm at the stage just now that I just can't wait for the wedding to be over because of all the stress. I spoke to my OH and he just said he wants me to be happy so didn't really help with making a decision on it lol. I think I'll try and not think about it for a few days because the more I think about it the more it gets me down :( Just trying to stay positive :)

Remember you chose that ring for a reason! It may just be the stress of the lead up to the big day that is making you question your choices.. but I would trust the fact you that you chose this ring for a reason :) if a couple of months or so after the wedding you still have the same feelings then maybe you could consider buying a new one then? I know it wouldn't be the same ring you made your vows with, but as the others have said, if you change it now you will probably have to get one from a high street store that wouldn't hold as much sentiment as the one you have currently xx

You could also stick with the ring you have, but after the wedding consider getting it reshaped. That way you still have the same ring that you got married with, as the material in it is the same, but it is redesigned in a way that you like. I was given my great-grandmother's wedding ring, which had been made into a signet ring for her son, and then my mother's sister had got it and it was adapted again. I had to have it totally redone to make it into a wedding band, but I know that it is still the same ring that my great-grandmother wore in 1910 when she got married.

What specifically about the ring are you having second thoughts on? Have you seen another you prefer?
