    Hi all,

We are asking for money towards our honeymoon for our gift list so im assuming alot of people will put cash in their cards.

How can we keep the wedding post box safe without having a huge chain and padlock on it?!

Do we sit it somewhere for the cermony and then move it into the reception room, or do people just keep their cards until we go into the main rooma fter the ceremony? Our venue is still open to other guests (as it has a small restaurant in it) so wouldnt want someone coming along and taking it

Thanks for any advice, its just a worry i have
    xx

    Hi

Our venue have stated we require a lovable post box and someone has to take ownership

We are leaving ours until the evening reception and having a post box in the foyer- we have exclusive use so we are fine, one of the bridal party will then take this until the next day

You can hire lockable postboxes I believe. Ours wasn't but it was still fine, no one took anything from it and quite a few guests put cash and cheques in their cards. Alternatively you could put a note to say politely not to put cash in cards and only either do cheques or bank transfers and then give bank details for guests to make transfers into x

I think it's awful to think that you have to lock it or keep it safe from your guests. We never had a lockable one, but everything was safe in it. I cannot even remember if we took it to the room or not that night either and it was still fine.

Our venue have said that at some point in the evening, they will get a dad or best man etc, whoever we point and they will take some gifts / cards up to a specified room to keep them safe.

I wouldn't have the post box at the ceremony though

Most decoror suppliers will have them. Were getting a beautiful vicrorian style one and it's costing less than £50 to hire and it's metal and locks so would meet any venue requirements. Have a look at some places local to you and you should hopefully find something.
But it's shocking the lengths we have to go to these days and the extra hassle and cost of finding one

I know such a shame but i read the stories online about people stealing charity pot money etc and it made me panic! Its a respectable place so im sure it will be fine but you never know!!

Thanks guys ill definitly just keep it in the room where we are having our reception, and away from the door! :) x
