I daren't say what mine cost but my OH got it saying "Why spend a fortune on a wedding and the one thing you're gonna keep forever you scrimp on" I realise I'm very lucky but, I am old, I've done the kids thing and we are better off at this later time in our life than when we were younger. I was so surprised at how much gold has gone up in the last few months too!

My engagement ring was £200 and my wedding ring will be £200, both from H. Samuel. Ben's ring is a tungsten ring and comes to a grand total of £25. Lol.

My engagement ring cost £1200 my wedding ring will be £558 and his is £495. My engagement ring is platinum though and our engagement rings are both palladium (mine has diamonds which is why its slightly more expensive and his is 2 tone - brushed and satin effect i think. :)

My engagement ting was very expensive, much more than I would ever have thought I would feel comfortable wearing so I was happy to try find a cheapish wedding ring but style I want seems to be more expensive. We have someone coming round on the 10th Oct to show us some rings but think h2b is keen for me to get wedding band from Tiffany as that's where my e-ring from. He's more bothered about that than I am but then I do get that it is a symbol of your love forever. Plus if it was expensive too then at least our 2 daughters won't have to fight over who has what jewellery!! X

I paid for my own engagement ring and I bought a beautiful pair of rings for £1150, so I will not need to spend any more on mine.

My future husband has decided that of all things, he would particularly like a stainless steel ring he saw in Argos!! So he has bought his for just £4!!

We've seen ours in Sam H's, they're matching £650 for them both which I thought was quite reasonable for two rings

Just to give you another thing to think about.....

If you put 9crt and 18 crt next to each other there is a very big difference in colour. I was going to have a 9crt gold ring to try and save us some money but it didn't look right next to my 18crt engagement ring. You would be better having the same kind of gold next to each other as the 9crt could wear away the 18crt a lot quicker as it is harder and will rub. If you want to cut costs then go for a D shape ring rather than a court shape ring as is uses less gold so you can have a wider band.

I went to H Samuel after traipsing for days around the jewelery quarter in Brum. I paid £180 for my h2b's extra heavy weight curt 9crt 5mm ring and he paid £200 for my 18crt 4mm d shape ring. We managed to get 10% off each ring just through asking the manager as they do an offer if you buy the engagement ring with them you get 10% off the wedding rings. We didn't buy the engagement ring from there but just asked if they would do us a discount and they were nice :)

neither h2b or i are big jewellery wearers. i wear my e-ring and thats it and h2b wears none. he is trying to get out of not wearing a ring and im not really bothered if he does get 1 or not but its more the symbol it represents. will see how it turns out lol xx

No idea on engagement ring but my wedding ring hast cost £27 and oh £59. We only wanted plain bands and the way we both bash our hands about and lose things, its not worth buying expensive to be ruined/lost! we're both apair of clutz! we're more than happy with what we have and at the end of it, its the symbol more than the cost x

My engagement ring is way moe than I would have ever imagined- don't think oh even knows that I know the cost! As its platinum I've been told that it's best to get the same metal as if you go a different metal they rub against each other and wear down quickly and get damaged! Got a bit of time to find them anyway lol

The one I want is £2000. OH has found one he wants for £2500. Seems a lot for rings but my engagement ring is platinum so the wedding one needs to be. And I'd feel bad telling him his is to much after what my two cost
