Hi, just wondered how much people were spending on their and their h2b wedding rings? We're on a tight budget but dont know how much we should spend on the rings as they need to last.

Doesn't matter, as long as they are perfect for you. However the metal should match your E ring.

What Dove said :P If you get the wrong metal, it will ruin E-ring or vice versa.

We're on a tight budget, ours came in at under £100 for both rings.

Don't get why people spend so much on wedding rings, most of the time you can't tell the difference between a ring that cost £100 and one that cost £1000 so even if money is no object, why not put it to a better cause?

My mum and her ex-husband spent about £3k on their wedding rings, each. Well, he used his dad's so he got a wedding watch instead but in the end they spent about £7k on their wedding jewelry... they are getting divorced now after just four years, and my mum said (before we stopped speaking) when I got engaged that I could have her wedding ring... like I'd want a ring from a failed marriage!

we wont be spending a great deal, i love my engagement ring he picked it himself i now i was a couple hundred, but my friend got one made specially for her cost £2000 and all it is is a band with a diamand, nothing special, i think least mine has some shape and style to it:)

buy what you like not for the cost, were on a very tight budget

one thing, you don't have to have a band that sits well with your engagement ring. Lots of people choose to pick the ring they like and wear their engagement ring on the other hand or on another finger, or even put it away for special occasions. I'm moving my engagement ring to my other hand after we marry as I love the way my wedding band looks on its own.

Same, I only have tiny fingers and my engagement ring is quite large, so having two bands on one finger and nothing else on my hand looks REALLY silly.

And I only wear one ring on my other hand, which was the ring h2b gave me when we first got together so I can have my 'pre-wedding' rings on my right hand and my wedding band on my 'after' hand.

My engagement and wedding rings came together as a set and cost £1150, the two settings were only about £280 I think (18K white gold) and the rest was for the solitaire diamond in the engagement ring.

My H2B only paid £4 for his ring from Argos, he decided he wanted a stainless steel one.

You should get what you like and it doesn't have to be a traditional or very expensive metal if that isn't what suits you, I know someone with a plastic engagement ring from a Christmas cracker!

Have a word with a jeweller would be my advice. I don't think it's important how much the rings are as long as you are happy and can afford it. Gold at the mo is the most expensive it has ever been so nothing is inexpensive! Rings are worn to symbolise your union for eternity with the man that you love, can't put a price on that xxx

My wedding ring matches my engagement ring, both are white gold with diamonds. In a recent thread I said that we had found H2Bs wedding ring and he wanted it in white gold instead of titanium. The jeweller who was going to make it said it would look exactly the same so just keep the titanium one. It was £32 from a website named after a river. Mine was also from that website for £118. We had £250 set aside for for his ring and since he wants a Ted Baker wedding suit he now has £220 more to go towards that.

I spent £180 (with discount) on the h2b's ring which is 9ct super extra heavyweight 5mm as he needed it to be thick with his job. He spent £220 (with discount) on my 18k 4mm extra heavy weight band. We got them from H Samuels and are having them engraved at another jewellers which is cheaper. It doesn't matter how much is spent on the rings or what they are made of they are a sign of your commitment to each other so are therefore priceless.

@ODMS If you want to, get them now, the rings are one of the big things you can get done early because you buy it to fit you, not to fit the wedding or the theme or the dress so no matter what you pick, seeing as you'll pick what you like if you get them now or next year, it's one expense you can get out of the way and it is OH so much fun picking rings. Although when you get to take them home it's really hard to not wear them hehe. Plus if you want engraving, have a look for styles now and if you see rings you like, you can get them or order them and still have the rest of the time to think about what you want engraved on it. Me and h2b aren't getting ours engraved until either just before or just after the wedding :)

I had originally bought a wedding ring for myself it was a 18k white gold ring with cubic zirconia on it from Beaverbrooks, lovely little ring actually.

When I bought the hubby his ring in Canada it was titanium with a 0.10 carat diamond in it he decided I should have diamond as well & as my enagagement ring is 14k white gold it would look better to have the same k of metal.

So he bought me a half eternity style diamond wedding band, it atches my engagement ring, I have beautiful diamonds &I love it.

His was nearly $400 after taxes & mine was nearly $600 after taxes (Approx half would be the UK equiv), irregardless of the prices of the rings, all that matters is that you like it, it looks good with your other ring in the long run, who cares if it's £100 or £1000, it's a symbol of your love :D
