Hi hope you can help. My morning reception consists of 60 people and I will have 6 tables of 10 set up for the wedding breakfast. In the evening I have a extra 100 people which we will be providing a evening buffet for. How many tables would you suggest of having in the evening?

I'd just leave your 6. We are having similar numbers but a hog roast in the evening and we are removing 2 of our tables

Thanks for your reply, would that be enough for the evening guests to sit down and eat?

Well not all of ours will be eating at the same time and as our hog roast is served outside I expect lots of people will eat outside either perched on a wall or on some of the garden furniture
Our venue will be sorting this out for us based on final numbers - might be worth asking them what they advise. 6 tables for 160 people doesnt sound a lot to me.

That's what I was thinking, I want enough for people to sit and relax and has their meal but my partner doesn't want the dance floor to be empty and everyone to be just sitting down

We have approx. 100 guests and will have 6 tables left for the evening. I think you'd probably need about 9 based on 160. The danger is if there isn't enough seats for those who want them, people will relocate to the bar area and be totally away from what is going on.

I'd have a couple more to be honest, if it was a total of 100 I'd say leave it, but you are having 160 by what I read, so I'd have at least an extra 2-3 tables.

Not everyone will sit down and eat and also with evening buffets people will eat at different points in time. I'd however get and additional 5 or 6 tables set up if you'll have 160 in total in the evening. 100 extra people is a lot to not have anywhere for them to sit.

Yes I think 6 is too few , if yiur venue is big enough add a few more tables, often though if you are having a band, they take up table room xx

Thank you all

I think a few more tables would be better rather than to few. Speak to your venue they would be able to help you with table numbers xx

sorry I miss read it as 60 day and 100 evening not 160 evening! If it is 160 evening then probably around 10 tables would be enough
