We will ve together 7 years on our wedding day and 2
1/2 of those engaged. We had a lot of obstacles - we looked at rings a few months after we had met and I tried one on - he had planned a big proposal on a short city break in Prague with my parents. But he got made redundant the month before and had to cancel. It was tough financially for us the following years so he never planned again until 4 years later - on Christmas eve 2009 he popped very officially the question with the same ring I tried on all those years before. I never insisted on this ring but he wanted it that way :-)
We started planning straight away but then I fell pregnant and didn't want to get married pregnant and even though I had a miscarriage we never started planning again due to financial reasons. But now :-)

When we met we would never ever have thought it would take that long...

The day we get married we will have been together for 7 years, and engaged for 4 years and 1 month and 6 days... to be precise. lol. We have had a long engagement because although I was thrilled at the idea of getting married, we needed to finish uni, and then we got our house as well.

Got together when we were 16 but had been friends since we were 12. Got engaged at 18 after being together 2 years but he was about to be deployed for 8 months with the Royal Navy. That was May 2007. So been engaged 4 years.

We will have been engaged almost 6 years when we get married and the day we get married we will have been together for 8 years as we get married on our anniversary :) Long engagement as we're both still young, and we wernt in any real hurry to marry.
