Wedding Forum - How did you meet your H2B?...

I was best friends with his niece at the time and her nanna (his mum) was really poorly with cancer and getting worse.. My best friend at the time asked me to go over just so she could get out of the house for a bit as it was all getting a bit too much.. After we'd been out a couple hours we went back to hers (she was living with H2B's parents at the time) and as we walked toward the house, he was coming out and I said to her 'ooo who's that' lol.. She said her uncle and introduced us etc, when he came back, we talked for ages :-)
11 days later his mum passed away :-( and 2 weeks after that him, his cousin and my ex best friend did a charity bungee jump which I went to watch.. The tension between us was unimaginable (good tension ;-) ) I was a bit warey as he has 2 kids, but that was August and by the November I realised I couldn't not be with him anymore :-)

We met about 7 years ago when we were with our ex partners at a wedding of my ex's cousin,who his ex is best friends with (confusing I know) lol... Never really fancied him but was acquaintances. Then he split with his ex January 2010 so was single for a bit then got with someone for almost a yr before splitting again,then me and my ex started having problems and I started seeing h2b out on nights out quite a lot so got talking properly and became friends,he helped me through my break up 5months after that and we got closer after that and became an item on New Year's Day 2012

He randomly added my msn email- and i checked my msn for the first time in years that night!

we talked online all night then swapped numbers and facebooks- we met 5 days later in a local pub ( he lived 10mins away!) and have been together ever since.

I originally met my h2b through a Greece travel forum several years ago, I was in a relationship at the time, but was unhappy which turned into very unhappy, my h2b was the one there for me to help me through the difficult times as a friend. I had not even looked at him in a bf way never mine a h2b way, until I finally plucked up courage to leave my ex and our friendship got stronger. We finally got together years later when I came to visit him in Scotland for the Weekend and he asked me out on a date and I haven't looked back since, he is my knight in shining armor, he's been through my bad and good times, my ups and downs... And I really cant wait to say I DO

we met on a dating site, p.of.fish. met some other blokes before him but there werent serious, the daqy before we met we spent 3 hours on the phone, havent got a clue what we spoke about. he moved in 3 weeks later and weve been inseperable since. apart from when he works away, i now hate being on my own. lol

Mines is...I'd been single for around 5 years when I met my Fiance, I was happy on my own and had a few 'trust issues' after previous relationships. A guy at work told me about Plenty of Fish and I thought i'd give it a go. I can't remember who messaged who first but we started chatting which went on for a few months, he asked me out a couple of times but I was too busy, eventually we decided on a date 15th April 2010. The morning of the date I got a message from a friend to say he'd been let down and the person who he was supposed to be travelling to Greece with on his motorbike had pulled out and did I want to go? I thought 'this is something i'll only ever do once, travel across europe on a motorbike' so i said i'd do it. That evening I met my Fiance for our first date and instantly knew there was something special, we had 3 more dates before I left for my Europe trip. I'd lived in Greece for a few years previously so I had it in my head that i'd have a final summer working in the sunshine. However, the whole 6 days it took us to get there I thought of nothing except this handsome boy that i'd met. We spoke everyday on the phone and after being back in the sunshine for 3 weeks I realised I needed to go home and see what happened. He said he'd love it if I came back so he picked me up at the airport at 5am on 10th May 2010 and I never left :) It took a while for my trust issues to go away completely but they did and i'm happier than i've ever been. I was such a skeptic before now I really do believe in Love!

OK, I think I feel comfortable enough to post how W2B (Liz33y) and I finally met…:o)

We are both ardent fans of the rock band, Simple minds (me more than her), and we met on a fan-based forum. We swapped a few CDs, chatted for a few months, found out that we both shared the same sense of humour, films, other bands….
So we decided to meet up in London on a semi-blind date (can’t call it a full-on blind date as we had chatted previously). Thankfully, I got an earlier train and so did she, so ultimately, we had an extra hour or so – on top of the thirteen hours!

Anyway, All day, I accidentally put my travel card next to my credit cards, which caused the strip on the back of the ticket to demagnetize and render it all but useless, so I had to convince they guy at the barrier that it was valid. This went fine, until it was time to see Liz off, and he argued the toss, and wouldn’t let me see her off so, exasperated, I said “look, I’m only seeing my girlfriend off, and I'll be on my way”!

And that is it. The rest is history.:-)

I was on Pof for about 18 months on and off, would get bored of it and hide my profile now and again. Some of the dates the guy would just arrive and I would know straight away that it wasn't going to work but had to stay and chat wishing I could go home :) Also sometimes i'd meet someone that I thought was quite nice but they weren't on the same lines and vice versa with guys who liked me but I wasn't that interested but...it only takes one perfect one!! :) Were you on it for long? Did you know quickly when you met Mr Right?

Was on there about 6 months. Met about 10 guys, one was engaged ( found out after the date so didn't meet him again) a lot of the guys I met were only after one thing.
Me and h2b laid Everything on the table before we met so I think it was the day we met in person I knew he was for keeps. We said we love each other after 3 days, he sent me a song thru msn and it made me cry lol. He got evicted from his flat Cus his landlady was a bit ch 2 weeks after we met so he moved in. He was great with my daughter so that was a good sign.

I don't like to tell many people this but I used to date his younger brother, we were together for just under a year. I went out with various other people after we split up and then a couple of years later we bumped into each other. I had a boyfriend at the time but we split up and 2 weeks later I was with H2B. THe first family meal I went to with him was slighly awkward, his brother held a flame for me for a long time once we split up, he once came to my mums house in the middle of the night and stood under my bedroom window professing his love for me! He's over it now and now we tend not to tell people the beginning of the story, we just tell people that we met through a mutual friend.

everyone says mines like a movie - me and steven did not know eachother at all, i went to college with one of his best friends and the friend invited me and a few others in our group down to polperro (we live in cornwall) for a BBQ as it was the beginning of june so it was getting hot, we went down, had the BBQ on the cliffs and began talking, we werent really friends we just spoke to eachother, 2 weeks later after spending all night every night & day texting/facebooking each other he invited me back down to his house for this house party that was happening, he even spent the £50 taxi so i could definitely go! that day on the cliffs all of our friends made these ridiculous excuses to go and get something but none of them wanted me or steven to go with them, steven had already told them he wanted us to be alone, once we were alone he got all cheesy and asked me out, we were only teenagers! then last nov on bonfire night, the same place as he asked me out all those years ago, he proposed!

Tyler and I met whilst he was on R&R from Afghanistan just days before he went back... We remained in contact for the last 4 months of his tour, Skype was a godsend! He came back on April 9th 2010 (our official anniversary) and we met in the train station; he was carrying a huge bouquet of red roses for me, and that was it.

We met at my best friend's joint birthday party with him. I didn't even realise I fancied him at the time so we became friends and it was only when he got with his ex that I realised I did in fact have feelings for him and was jealous of her :P We continued being good friends; we went to the cinema all the time and then went for a drink after.

Apparently he tried to ask me out three times (once in the cinema...and twice in Old O****ns) but said it too quietly that I didn't hear. After three years of friendship; I decided enough was enough as I was fed up of waiting for him to ask me out so I text him and he said yes. Fast forward nearly 3 years and we're getting married :D

me and my other half met through a mutual friend who came to my birthday and brought his mate along and got drunk, and i thought he was cute, but i asked my mate if he liked me or what not, he asked him and he could not eve remember me and it was my bday, <cheeky git> but we organised a meeting when sober and i liked him he liked me, and then we officialy got together on our mates birthday on a night out, where I stole his hat to make sure we would meet again

I went to the pub to watch footy with my bro and friends. He was a friend of a friend who arrived shortly after me. We talked non stop all through the match and when England first scored he kissed me! and again when they scored a second time and the third time!! If someone had said there was fireworks going off above our head I would have believed them, it was an incredible feeling

I met Matt on another online dating site.

We had got talking some months before but instead of giving him a shot I started dating someone else (biggest mistake of my life).
Matt also started dating someone else and our contact ceased.
When my relationship ended I decided to try again and who should pop up but Matt - we chatted all night and realised we're both big fans of gaming so I gave him my gamer tag and we ended up playing Xbox together every night for the next few weeks. We soon arranged to meet up and go for dinner in town (Matt had broken his leg at the time so couldn't drive or hobble very far..) spent the whole day together and have barely spent a week apart since :)
It just shows that when someone kicks you down there's gonna be someone to pick you back up and that person just happened to be my future husband.

Pof here aswell lol I used it when I couldnt sleep and sent him a message saying "cadbury creme egg how do you eat yours" and we just hit it off from there that was 5 year ago x

i have known my h2b for years when he was married to my mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now I know wot u all thinking but I can assure you that you're all wrong...........they had been separated for about 2 year before I saw him out on a nite out and he asked me for my fone number. I didn't think he wud ring but he did and we went out.....I did txt me mate and tell her and she was ok about it and wished us luck. .....we have been together nearly 6 years..... We even got engaged on the same day as her and her fella and she is getting married this year and im even going on her hen party in a few weeks

did feel a bit strange at first but after a while everything just seemed normal and now im marrying him in august next year on our 7 year anniversary xx
