Hi, is anyone else having a hot fork buffet as they're wedding meal. We are but I'm looking for ideas for what to have, don't want haggis neeps and mash or mince & mash, just not a big fan of those sort of meals. Can anyone suggest anything? Thanks

Not sure.. I don't see why not! The best option might just be to contact a few caterers, explain your needs and see what they recommend :)

I'm having a wedding breakfast but for a buffet I think things like chicken curry, beef straugonof (not sure how it's spelt), lasagne etc would be nice even chicken and ham pie? With rice chips salad etc and bite sized stuff like mini vol u vents, chicken wings etc

Or have like a Sunday carvery? That's mainly what you would have at a wedding breakfast anyway

We had a hot buffet. Scouse (beef casserole), potato wedges crusty bread and red cabbage or Chicken Tikka Massala & rice. Our guests were with us the whole day, and had a 7 course wedding breakfast, so we had the formal wedding breakfast, and a relaxed buffet at night.

We are having an evening only wedding so just having a buffet for our guests. Our venue does set buffet menus but we have added scouse (stew) to it so that guests get a hot meal too x

Princesspixie I'm sure we could happily eat the whole thing! Just one of those things they won't do! Plus that would mean having it outside instead of in our suite and I love the suite our receptions in!

We wanted a laid back feel which involved people socialising a bit more. Originally we wanted a hog roast but then went for a Sunday carvery option with three different meats and all the trimmings with a veggie option. Our day is laid out so during photos/cocktail hour we'll have the "starter" which will be canapés. WB is the carvery. Then it's outside for lawn games. Evening reception and dessert will be a sweet buffet with a 1 large chocolate fountain and 1 small white chocolate fountain.

I'd totally go for a hog roast! They're popular and tasty! Can easily cater for over 100 people.
