    Hi Felicity, welcome and congrats.

Me and my h2b discussed the potential month we wanted to get married in and day of the week and went from there really. Went and looked at venues and once we found the one we asked what Saturdays they had free in May, only had two left so I contacted the church to check their availability and picked the date that fitted best. The church could do either but on one date we could only get married at 12 or 4 - 12 was too early and 4pm too late for the day we wanted whereas the other date was free so we could choose the time we wanted, all seemed to click for that one date. Hope that helps x

    Hi Congrats !
I have just booked venues and had first meeting with priest . Basically we decided on certain months (out of footy season) and I always wanted a Saturday wedding and after a bit of a random way to choose a date which actually turned out to be a Sat we kinda hoped for the best and luckily both venue and cathedral was free :)
So think of dates and times of year which you both would prefer and try those dates first of all .

Arrange meeting with the church and see if dates are free and then normally the vicar/priest will go through what is needed such as paperwork and maybe lessons that need to be attended . At this point they may also discuss flowers/music which you don't have to decide there and then but they may insist on using people they know so contact numbers maybe given . They will also run through costs of service and what is allowed and what isn't like in my cathedral no confetti .

Good luck with the planning x

Hello. Congratulations and welcome to the UKBride family. You and your H2B need to discuss when you would like to get married, and get a list of potential days together. It's worth having a preference ready in case you find yourselves with a choice, but have back-ups in case your preferred date is not free. When you speak to someone at the church ask them if your preferred date is free, and how to go about booking it. Each church will have their own system, but in the first instance you will need to speak to the vicar/priest/minister/pastor depending on the kind of church. At the same time you need to be thinking about your reception (unless you're having it at the church), where you want it, what kind of thing you want, and what your budget is. You need to look at venues for that, and find out what their availability is. Whichever you agree the date with first (church or reception venue), you need to book that provisionally while you confirm that the same date is free with the other one. Then in the case of a reception venue you pay a deposit to confirm, with the church you would probably just tell them that it is definite. It sounds like a lot of hassle, but it's probably the biggest thing to do, as then everything else can start falling into place.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

    Hi :)

I discussed the month we wanted to married with my partner and went to few venues to see what dates they had free in the month we picked. We wasn't too fussed about it being a Saturday wedding so we had a bit of flexibility there. I have just provisionally booked my venue and then booked the church after.

When you ring the church just say your enquiring about holding your wedding there and they are really friendly and do pretty much all the talking after that.

    Happy Planning :)
