Hi we have been engaged for a year and we keep toying with the idea of getting married but it seems too expensive! We need cheap ideas as we both gave large family's. We are considering Thailand Hawaii even Cambodia as my parents are going travelling but I feel it will upset my mother in law as she is making digs wanting us to go abroad but not invite parents of brothers hinting at my family. So I think a cheap uk venue but I'm really stuck I'm thinking 25/11/16 as first started dating on 25th November.
Any help or ideas much appreciated.
    Thank you

Cheapest way... Registry office then hire a hall instead of looking for set wedding venues :) x

Winter weddings are a bit cheaper so that will save you quite a bit. I think you need to work out number of guests and budget and then you can work out how to make it work. Anything is doable. If you are crafty you. An save a ton by making a lot of stuff and at the same time adding to the wow factor :-) x

Winter weddings, during the week, that brings down the price a lot.

Some social clubs/pubs/political social clubs don't charge for room hire.

And lots of diy stuff, get things cheap all over, either the bay or maybe charity shops.

yes I agree with Jem, if you have a afternoon wedding at registry office then hire a village hall and have a buffet and do it up lovely inside, some are really lovely ! My friends spent £500 on there wedding and it was a great time !! anything is do able depending on what you want and what your wiling to go with . If you want the big wedding with champagne flowing and a thousand pound dress at a country mansion for 100 people and an amazing wedding photographer e.t.c all for not much , then you wont find anything but if willing to have a registry office and village hall/social club then you can make It as cheap /expensive as you like ! Def work out how many people you having and what type of wedding you want then see if you can make it work :)

Mid week out of season weddings are the cheapest, you tend to get better deals from all suppliers.

A November wedding should be quite cheap already as it is out of season but like others have said, getting married in a registry office then hiring a hall and doing as much as you can yourself will keep costs down.

If going DIY with things, roll in the help of family members and friends as well. Have a girly evening and make centre pieces or bouquets etc.
