Silly question but here goes. I am really paranoid about my baggy blelly skin/overhang/muffin top, whichever you prefer to call it. (I got it from having 2 kids by c section) It hangs down really low so dont want it to show in my dress. I am dieting and have lost weight but as yet it hasnt gotten any smaller grr. Has anyone got any tips or know of any lingerie other than spanks which dont work for me to hide it, that will streamline my stomach?

have you already bought your wedding dress? i have the same problem for the same reason. try buying an a-line dress preferably lace up back as this allows you to carry on losing weight as it makes the dress adjustable but also you cant see the belly. check my pics for evidence that a-line dresses hide the overlap babe, im also paranoid about mine.

i have just started zumba and it is meant to be great for your belly. when you are doing it you are meant to hold your belly in so it strenthens the muscles! not very easy at first tho. last night was my first go but my friends who have been going for a month said it does get easier.

my friend claire had a big belly and since she has been doing it it really has improved! xx

Emsy5000 - not strictly true. Even after losing 4 stone I still have a bit of the same problem but I dont mind it, I call it my baby belly and realise its just part of me and theres nothing apart from surgery and a tummy tuck that will get rid of it. I'm a size 12 now after being a size 20-24 and I guess its just something I have to live with. Exercise makes no difference, its excess skin not fat :(

Totallylovedup - why not try a corset or a bodyshaper, that can keep the contours of your body looking great.. I got a lovely bridal set from Debenhams and it gives me a nice flat tummy xx

was the dress too tight? a dress needs to be done up just right, too tight or too loose will make the baggy bits show. the problem with corsets is that the overlap gets squished downwards and so is visable at the bottom of the corset.

I don't think u need to worry about getting special underwear, you have more than enough time to do it naturally. Plenty of toning and running/long walks should do it.

You will feel so much more confident on the day if u do it this way rather than opting for special knickers to hold u in. Especially at the end of the day when those knickers have to come off!! x

I agree with a lot of the advice, exercise which uses and strengthens your core muscles will help lose a little but I am not convinced that a baby belly can ever be truly eradicated. I have one but thankfully my dress doesn't show it up at all. It has an embroidered corset and then flows out from waist so it is well covered. Dress wise I would go for a dress that has a ruched wrap effect, hard to explain, but it hides the tummy very well, unlike buying a slinky clingy dress. Corsets can be good but you have to feel comfortable and again depends on what dress you wear, i don't have to wear anything on top under my dress, has inbuilt support. But you have plenty of time, so just get exercising, the Wii Fit is good too, hula hooping on it is great for toning waist and tummy. xx

i'm also in the same boat as a lot of u, had a cesearen n been left with overhang of skin, which is even visable through jeans! i lost weight to try n get rid of it but it looked worse to me, having a flat tummy except where the scaring is- so i put a stone and half back on to hide it a little, surely there should be in this day n age a better way of making it look better?

I found that taffeta is more forgiving than satin dresses and so is chiffon and organza. A dress that rushes to the side with gathering hides all my rolls of fat even when I sit down. It really is about choosing a dress that works with your body.

    I call mine a mothers apron :D

I hate it, i got mine from a c section almost 5 years ago and have yet to get rid of it. I've been told they do get less noticable the more weight you lose but aside from that theres not much you can do except learn to love it or get a nip & tuck...

I wear control knickers to try and suck it in. Mine doesnt show in my wedding dress as the bodice ends above my 'apron' and then skirt puffs out a little but so you cant see it. I'll be wearing my control knickers anyway though.

go try on dresses. My problem is a muffin top too, my belly below aint that big. Mori Lee and Benjamin Roberts dresses have an inbuilt corset (even if they have zip or button up backs) and they REALLY sort out that problem and gave me the perfect hour glass. All I have to worry about now is the back bulge and upper arms!! lol

stressed my son is nearly 5 and i still get asked when my baby is due. i think it is really rude and just say oh im not pregnant. really it isnt their faut but it really upsets me! my muscles are shot and so is my skin. i got enormous when i was pregnant, measuring 46cm at 36 weeks. My babies were both 7lb-ers though so not big babies i was just carrying a swimming pools worth of water! i even went to see a doctor about it and he was really unsympathetic telling me if i didnt want my body to change i shouldnt have had kids.

it knocks our self esteem which then rolls on to affect our kids/realationships ie: some ppl wont go swimming, se* with the light off or under covers (allthough h2b allways turns light on and takes the covers off i try pull them bac on when hes busy if u get what i mean lol) and in alot of other ways to it also affects what we wear and how we feel about ourselfs and i think there should be more help to help us either love our selfs falb and all or to help us do something about it im making an appt for next week and im not leaving untill they give me some tabs or they says they will refere me to see about talking about a tummy tuck or lipo xx

i did katya. i looked on the nhs website and they say that they do voucers for ww or sw or gym referral. went to the weight loss clinic as directed on the site and...yep u guessed it, they had never recieved any vouchers! she did however refer me to an exercise class, but was no good for me as the times are when H2B is working or my mum is working so cant go anyway! grr so disheartening.
stressed sounds like we are feeling exactly the same way hun. with the weight loss pills, they told me they wont give me any until they see that i have lost weight first. As for what i wear..well i have to buy 1-2 sizes bigger in bottoms just to get around the saggy belly but then its really baggy round my bum and legs. dont like wearing leggings all the time whcih is pretty much the only other option as i am funny about my legs lol. s**x is a funny one for me. i wont go on top. it is just to humiliating, not that H2B has ever said anything but its a bit off putting when you can feel and hear the overhang slappin against him! I wont gdo it with the lights on either, its bad enoughknowing its there without being naked with lights shining down on it for him to see!
I do agree there should be more support for women like us. they seem to think we are like this because we eat too much or are lazy and should go on a diet. thing is, when i am dieting and losing it, it doesnt change whats there. it wont go away through weight loss as its not all fat, its stretched out skin!!
rant over lol though it is good to get it out there, kinda theraputic in a way so thanks for letting me go on and on and on.... lol x

I know this thread is a few years old and already has some good suggestions, but just in case you still need another solution, I feel compelled to post this. I used to search for ways to get rid of my belly fat prior to my wedding back in 2016.

I ended up trying quite a few online programs.

Out of desperation, I accidentally found something that worked really well called "The Flat Belly Fix System".

The Flat Belly Fix is the only 21-day rapid weight loss system that allows you to easily lose an average of one pound a day for 21 days without feeling hungry the unique and brand-new techniques used in this system are proven safe and they do not cause the rebound weight gain common to all the other rapid weight loss systems that are not backed by the latest science.

Everyone I have recommended this to since I discovered it has been amazed at how well it works. You should definitely check it out!
My best friend needed to lose some belly fat for her wedding.

After trying the flat belly fix system, she lost 17 pounds in 3 weeks, with similar results from a bunch of the bridesmaids in turn.
Todd (as the author is named) focused the program around a secret ingredient he discovered. He made a special fat burning tea with it, to be drunk every morning. It’s also a great program for pre-diabetics or those suffering from type two diabetes.

This program contains some of the most effective weight loss tactics on the planet, especially if you're a bride in need of some quick weight loss around the tummy area. Have a look at the website over here: http://flatbellyfixr.weightlosstactics.info

(no, I'm not affiliated w/ this site). Good luck sister! ❤️
