    Hello all you lovely ladies....

    I have got this dress

It's my perfect dress, the only one I have actually looked at. I bought it about 18 months in a sample sale, so it's been in my wardrobe ever since!

When I bought it I wasn't bothered about my weight and I bought it on the slightly larger side (The only one left! In the country from the amount of phonecalls and emails me and some friends made!)

The women who sold it to me said that if I was a 12-14 the dress would be altered down to fit perfectly and the people that tend to want this dress is normally a 10! Now I am losing weight and doing really well and it looks like I may be a size 10-12 in 5 months in time for the wedding!!

Do you think it's possible to take this down 2+ dress sizes or do I need to
    a) Buy a new dress
    b) Stop dieting and have this one as a larger bride and not my target size?

I cannot buy this dress anymore as the company do not sell dresses anymore - they sell manikins :S

    xxxx

If I were you I would go and see a seamstress and ask their opinion, You might be able to get it taken down to a 10/12 but there is no way to know unless you have a professional look at the dress. Then you can decide if you want to get a new dress or not. x

Love: A wildly misunderstood, although highly desirable,
    malfunction of the heart.
37 Pounds down, 22 pounds to go! I will be a skinny bride!
28th March 2014 will be the day I marry my best friend.

I would say speak to a dress maker or tailor and just check before you get any further! I would also say stop dieting about 2 months before you get married as your final dress fittings are usually about 6 weeks prior! They should be able to alter it but I think it depends on the dress and the detail also! Hope you get it sorted as that dress is gorgeous xxx

Definitely go and speak to a seamstress on their opinion! You might be able to get it taken in or altered in some way. They do say its a good 2 dress sizes before they struggle to alter so who knows! Decent seamstresses will be able to do something.
But I don't want to burst your bubble or anything but now you're losing weight you may find your body shape has altered so you need to get the dress tried on and maybe get the seamstress to hold it in so can see how it would sit if it fits properly if you know what i mean? xx

i know a seamstress who says that as long as the dress wldnt lose too much of its detail (i.e if there was lots of crystals) then it wild b fine, she is fan and says anything can be made smaller!!!xx

I am just trying to book into a few as I don't wanna use the first people, I want to have a feel and hopefully see other work of theirs.

LOL velcro - I meant manikins, like shop dummys not mankinis!

It depends on the design, i was always told that dresses can be taken down 2 sizes before making noticable changes to the dress, how it depends on the detailing xx
