    Help!

We have been looking over the last few months at photographers and have met with a total of 7. We have whittled this down to two and have now come to a halt!

They are both lovely, we hit it off with them straight away and both are in budget and only £55 difference in price.

How do I choose!!!? One has slightly more experience but the other is more of a "local" photographer as she lives about 15 minutes away from us. We really like the work of both so really don't know how to decide!!

    Any advice!?

Personally if it's just the cost, I'd go with the local one. We've got a local photographer doing our wedding and because he knows the area, he knows where to suggest for photos and knows our venue inside / out so also knows where to take the best photos.

    I'd go off cost......personally.
We're all about penny squeezing though.
We're hiring a photography student... it's literally £100 theyl pop the pictures on a disc and then we can print off at our leisure.

I'm in the same situation as you, I'm stuck being my mom's next door neighbor who is a professional photographer or what a picture. My H2B wants to go for what a picture but I don't know. I know my mom's neighbor very well but I don't want to hurt his feelings if we didn't go for them because him and his family has been my mom's neighbor for roughly about 10 years. I don't know what to do either so me and you Vikki are on the same page xx

I agree with the others, if you are happy with both of them and are equal in your eyes, then go with the cheaper one, that way you can spend the extra on something else if you wish, or put it towards honeymoon spending money.

Same thinking here. I'd go based on price if they are that similar x

my personal opinion is that you shouldn't necessarily go for the cheapest or the one who lives locally. Ask both of them if they have ever covered a wedding at your venue and if so ask to see pictures. This is one of the reasons I have chosen myphotograper, he had done a few weddings at my venue and happened to have an online gallery and gave us the password to look through the days pictures. this year alone he has done 6 weddings at my venue so I know he will know the best areas to take pcitures inside and out side the building, how to best get the group shots, how much time he will need to prepare each shot at each location, how long it takes to get from one area of the venue to anohter and as he is on great terms with the staff he can have things arranged before hand if neccessary. When I said to my planner at the venue last week who my photographer was she was like yeah he's here quite alot so do look at that aspect as well xx

Are they both familiar with your venue? I'd go with the one who is more familiar (if there is one)

Our photographer knows our venue so well and knows where to take which pics and where. This was one of the many reasons we chose him. (He also works with a partner and we liked the thought of having pics taken from different angles and the different styles they would bring)

He was able to show us a few albums of the venue from getting ready, ceremony, pics in the gardens, wedding breakfast, night reception, first dance, cutting the cake etc. This really helped us envisage our day there xx

Neither of them have photographed the venue unfortunately.

We made the decision last night to go with the lady who is local and slightly cheaper. Two weeks ago I sent an email to both of them to say that it was between two photographers. she responded straight away and he hasn't at all so I decided after two weeks that we should make a decision with her (plus we are doing a choreographed first dance so the saving will pay for almost two hours of lessons!)

Photographer ticked off now on the wedding dress and making invitations!

Yeah feeling a lot less stressed now! Have received an email from the guy we have decided not to go with saying "thank you for letting me know" so he did get my original email so feeling happier that we made the right decision!

If both are offering exact same I woukd go for cheaper, however if they are offering different I woukd look closely at what you get for your money- cheaper isn't always the best option- you need to ensure it includes everything you want :-)

Just realised you made a choice- do agree if someone hasn't emailed you within 2 weeks then doesn't get your business- it's common courtesy to respond :-)
