I really need help. I'm getting married in August (had a baby in January who wasn't very well and have only now been able to look) fell in love with a dress but it was so small I couldn't get it on and didn't want to chance ordering it as I couldn't see how it fits/looks. No other shops near me had the dress.

I ended up buying a totally different style of dress which I liked but didn't love. And now I feel I've made a terrible mistake. It has none of things I wanted. I don't even know why I bought it I spent so long in the shop and I went by myself. It was off the peg and the more I look at it the more I don't like it. The lady has said no refunds or exchanges. Even though it makes no difference to her as I left the dress in the shop so she still has it.

I messaged her to say thanks for her help but I can't help thinking I've made a huge mistake as it's so different to what I wanted and this dress also has things about it that I originally said I didn't want - lace up back. The corset top really cuts me off and you can see the end of the corset through the dress. She said once it's been cleaned and the light is better it won't look like that and she made a point about saying she didn't pressure me in to it. I'm now stuck with this dress.

I was going to ask her to exchange it but the other one she had that I liked again was too small and I don't want to risk ordering when I cant see what it'll fit like.

I just don't know what to do I'm too scared to tell my partner about it because it was a lot of money (1400)

I contacted a shop ages ago about a beautiful dress but they didn't have my size, she's since told me she now has one and do I want to try it. But this lady won't refund me and I can't buy a second dress.

    :-( sad and confused xx

When exactly did you buy the dress and with everything you buy you do have 14 days to return it with a exchange or refund offered.

Did you sign any paperwork when you brought the dress? If you have a contract I would check it, if you haven't signed anything then I'm sure normal retail rules apply.

I would go in and speak to her personally, as a bridal shop owner this can't be the first time she has had this happen and if it is a sample dress you picked and haven't made any alterations too there is no reason why she can't re sell it.

    I hope this helps?
