I wondered from brides with experience or if anyone else was setting up one of those alternatives to a gift list/vouchers, one where people contribute to a honeymoon or the cash you've asked for in a poem like honeyfund or zankyou? I hadn't really thought about then til I saw my friend today who's set one up and people pick things to buy you off it? Don't know how it would go down with people is it asking too much? Or older guests not on the Internet feel left out?

We didn't do a poem as it wasn't us...most ppl gave us money anyway as we went to jamaica the day after the wedding, we still got a few gifts but most ppl just contributed to that without asking us x

I hadn't come across honeyfund before, might have to look into that a bit more as we don't just want to ask for money really.

    :)

I quite liked the idea of it people 'buy' you various things you put on there like air miles or drinks or car hire or spa day or whatever you put on it really, just means they're actually buying you something rather than just giving money. I wanted to put something on the invites that wasn't just a money poem but we don't need a gift list.

I hadn't heard of it until a woman in my work said she done it, they had a honeymoon in Australia and on her list were things like ice cream at ayers Rock, a drink in Sydney etc.

I am not one for gift lists or money poems in invites (it's just not us) but if it's your thing then I would say go for it. Someone said to me it's the only way you know people will get you exactly what you want.

We're using hunyfund, but I've not set up an actual gift lift. Guests can enter any amount.

My family might not take to the idea of money instead of gifts, but h2b is Greek and he says they give money not gifts, even if you have a list, they'll just give you an envelope with cash in.

I think they have the right idea, but I'd appreciate anything someone chose to give us.
My friend once found a stone that was shaped like a hamster so she painted a little face on it. Didn't cost a thing but I love it all the same.

I think it's much more acceptable to tell people you'd prefer money nowadays as most couples already live together and have a houseful already.

We were going to do a honeymoonfund, however, I asked on here and sure someone told me that you have to pay for having it, so decided against it. A friend of hubby done one though

Yeah the site is free but you pay paypal fees. I dont mind that. I just can't make up my mind if guests will find it easy to do. And like being able to do it or find it a bit rude?..
