We sent save the dates to day guests a year before. Didn't make a difference though, people still booked other things!

We'll be doing ours 15 months in advance because of the wedding being in France so people can book flights early and get the cheaper deal. I am making all mine too so started getting the supplies in. x

H2B and I decided last night not to bother with STD cards, they are almost as expensive as the invitations we want and most people know what date we are getting married. Once I can confirm the church time then I will order the invitations and send them out prob about 9 months before (so about Sept time) xxxx

made mine on vista print then when they came my dad laminated then 4 me and a put magnet strip on the bk so people can put them on there fridge not handed them out yet

thanks for your ideas, i will talk to H2B to see what he thinks, my family do not like in the same town as me but all his family do. maybe handy for them if they want accomodation?

our wedding date is 1st august 2013 and I have just designed my STDs. I put a thread with a picture. I will be posting them out to the ALL day guests as soon as we have confirmed our guest list (next week or 2). This is mainly due to the fact that everyone invited the to whole day will have to travel at least 200 miles to get here so will more than likely want to make a holiday of it. therefore will need enough notice to save up, espectially as most have kids.
Soon to be joined together as the Wheeler family, can't wait

Sent mine out last month but we're getting married on the 2nd June 2012 and that weekend has a monday and tuesday bank holiday attached so I was worried that people may arrange to go away! Only sent them to the day guests though! xx

i ordered some from v print so they are ready to be sent out christmas time, only going to send to day guests only. it falls on the bank holiday weekend and everytime will be notified in plenty of time.
