Hi, We are getting married next Oct in ****Qu3nd0n H@11, Saffron Walden.
We are looking for either a solo harpist or a duo, with a flute or violinist?

We would like this played for when people are entering the ceremony room, and all through the reception drinks before the meal.

Is there anything anybody can suggest where to find this?

    Thanks

    Hi Clarissa,

I've been looking myself for a string quartet, but still haven't found anything within price range!

    I'm now contacting musical colleges.

There are a few websites if you Google things like find a performer, which have been helpful.

    Hi Clarissa,

I'm a flautist myself, although nowhere near you. Solo harp or flute and harp duos are usually easy to find, but you will find it harder to find a violin and harp duo. I don't know if there is a university music department near you, or whether you would need to look to London to the music colleges and university music departments there to find students. Students might be cheaper and will be glad of the work, but may be reluctant to travel so far out of London, unless their expenses are covered. Otherwise an internet search should show up plenty of options, just put harp, flute if you want it, wedding and your area into the search engine. There are websites as well, at least one I can think of which I will put on your wall. The other place to look is music shops, where local performers might well advertise.
