Can anyone tell me if anything at all is worth haggling on for weddings? Or is a set price set in stone.....
Sometimes I think if I'm paying a certain amount for a lot I could try asking for a deal... Does this work?

    TY xx

I'm thinking for invites n stuff, the ones we like come in at £274 but was gonna see if they'd do £250... We have £300 set aside for them but I'm thinking the more we save the better because the venue cost so much I'm trying to grab bk where I can x

Worse that can happen is they say no, but most places have room to negotiate, especially if they want your business.

I'm not scared of putting my point across so think I'll go in a bit cheaper and then work up to the price I want, then they think they're getting the price they want when really I'm getting mine x

Anyone had any experiences haggling prices? Its not something that I've ever done before but I get the feeling that we'd be mugs to accept the first offer for everything! We're visiting our prospective caterers and a hostel that we are looking to book out for our guest for the weekend, but I don't know how to go about it when the time comes. The hostel have given us a quote of 665 per night to hire the place exclusively, thought of trying to get it down to 1200 for the two night, perhaps offering to increase our deposit... do you think that's too much to ask? Any tips appreciated!

Always haggle, even if they can't reduce actual prices they could throw a freebie in. We've literally not paid full price for anything for our wedding and it's almost planned, we saved three thousand on our venue alone by asking the question!!

Wow sounds like you're a pro! We're exceptionally lucky in that our venue is at my future in-laws home and business so saved about 4k. It means we can splash out on some of the non-essentials that we really want, like the guest accommodation, planning to pay a good chunk then ask guests to pay £20 per person for the two nights!
