    Hi girls,

Just wondering what you all think of Hag Nights instead of stag and hen nights. For those who haven't heard this term before it is basically a joint stag and hen do.

The reason I say this is we have a lot of friends in new relationships and there are some people who either myself or my OH only know so I am thinking this would be a good icebreaker and a chance for all our friends to meet each other before the day. I have said we could do this and have a separate do each too but my OH says to do 1 or the other. What do you all think to the hag idea? Xxx

Personally, I think it's a good thing and a good money-saver too. We are having a combined hen as we have all the same friends and we don't want people paying out twice for both of us as that seems pretty pointless! xx

I love the idea - but the girls would kill me, they're all very much looking forward to the hen night.

I may suggest doing one in addition though as a lot of our friends haven't met each other and I know most of them would be up for an activity of some descrption, or pizza and drinks at ours if money is short (which it probably will be)

we have the same friends, we dont have seperate friends, and we never go out alone or with eachother due to money & lack of babysitters so we will be having a sten party too. we also brew our own alcohol which makes it cheaper still, we have bought wine brewing kit & combined kit for lager, ale & cider brewing. We will ask every friend to provide around £10 each & this will mean that we can brew enough alcohol in advance of the party & also have enough food for everyone. It will work out much much cheaper than getting pizza & everyone bringing a crate/bottle. its also much cheaper than a night on the town. it only costs £12.50 to make 40 pints & £10.50 to brew 6 bottles of wine. then its just party food to sort. so even if we do a batch of 40 pints of each type plus 2 batchs of wine it will cost £60 in alcohol then party food, what another £20 maybe? so that will cover us plus 6 friends....
1.5 bottles of wine each plus 15 pints each... i think that is plenty considering im a light weight & wont make it past half a bottle of wine! lol and considering if we were to go out on the town you wouldnt get 5 pints for £10 i think that pretty good tbh lol (note i am thnking & planning this as i type haha)

I am undecided. In 1 way separate is our chance to have a night out on our own as we do everything together usually but I think the joint would be a good chance for everyone to meet before the wedding. If I had my way we would do both but its the expense involved. Xx

Definitely seperate for us. I want a girlie spa day and he wants to do a beer festival and neither set of friends would be impressed doing the opposite!

That said if your joint friends are happy to do a joint do and so are you two then go for it

I am definately into doing it desperate. For me it's a chance to have a last proper night with all your girlfriends and a chance to really let your hair down before settling down and becoming husband and wife. It's all down to personal preference though x

definitely separate for me… after the wedding every holiday will be with the family so its my last chance to go away with the girls and have a good blow out to be perfectly honest i think joint ones contradict the idea of stag and hen do's its supposed to be the last night out of "freedom" just a normal night if they're joint… but thats just my opinion xx
