Just wondering if the superstition is that on the day of the wedding the groom can't see the bride at all before the wedding or just that he can't see her in the wedding dress?

P.s sorry if this has posted twice having trouble using the site on my phone

I was under the impression that he's not suppose to see you at all on the day before the actual wedding. My h2b is being kicked out of our house the night before the wedding and will be sleeping and getting ready at his parents house, won't see him until I walk down the aisle. Makes it more exciting I think, a surprise.

I'll be staying at the venue the night before and H2B will be at his parent's house.
I'm looking forward to waking up getting ready and then walking down the aisle to meet him to start our lives together as a married couple! xxx

I'm torn. We're getting married four hours away from where we live so would save money only booking one room. But at same time staying separately will ensure a good nights sleep with no snoring or duvet hogging!

Matt and I stayed together in our home the night before. It was so lovely waking up in the morning together, we got excited together, had a cuddle and I honestly wouldn't do it any differently. We woke up about 8 and I left to go to my mums to get ready.

Everyone thought it was awful and said how against tradition it was, but why should we spend the night before apart just for the sake of tradition and to conform to what everyone else thinks is right?! Don't spend it apart just because it is the norm, do what you and hubby want.

We're in our 40's 4 kids between us but h2b is adement he wants to stay at his mums the night before. His brother and his partner are coming over from France and are staying as well so I think he's looking forward to that. I would have been happy with us being together but I'm happy either way.

We have been pondering this one too, if we chose the hotel venue we might both have rooms the night before. He wants to have dinner together and then go our separate ways :)

We haven't fullly decided yet but we'll probably be spending the night together so we can have a cuddle before we have to start getting ready. OH will see me in my dress before the rest of the guests as well as we'll be going in to have our interview with the registrar together. OH's family might put pressure on him the day before as we're setting up the venue to go back and stay at theirs so the sleeping decision may be very last minute

We will see each other the day before (I think it's silly not to, it's not as if it's the wedding day). We will then stay in separate houses overnight, and not see each other then until i walk down the aisle.

This might sound like a stupid question but is it no contact what so ever or can you ring each other on the day?

We are staying apart in keeping with tradition but also because that is practical. His parents live in Cheshire and we are getting married in Lancashire 5 mins from my house. So I will stay at home in my old room the night before and he will stay at his parents or with his best man in a local hotel. No one from his side of the family will see me until I walk into Church. Last time he will see me is at the rehearsal the night before.

We are going to spend the night apart and he won't see me until I'm walking down the aisle, I'm really looking forward to having a night with my family and getting all excited. Also seeing his face when he first see's me in my dress (it better be a good reaction otherwise I'll be saying no lol)

I think it is down to personal preference though.

We're going to stay with each other and walk down the aisle together. We've lived together for over 10 years, bought our own place etc so tradition is kind of out the window for us!!

Im glad this question has arose as I too was wondering what to do. I was saying to my OH that he should stay over at his mother's the night before and get ready there before we meet again at the ceremony, however my OH doesn't want to and he insists he won't get sleep there. I was a little superstitious about this but now im not so sure.
His plan is to leave early go to his bestmans house with our son and then arrange to get ready at the venue has we are getting married at a hotel and having the full venue there.

I'm going to my Mum's the night before (although I'm not sure if she knows that yet!) and H2B is staying at our house. When my Sister got married she stayed at their flat and my bro in law stayed at his parents.
