We are trying to do a lot of the wedding bits and bobs ourself and so far I have managed to sort photo frames for the table plan and table names, and personalised coat hangers and few other things. But feel I have a huge list of things left to do and worry I won't have it done in time! I know I have 11 months but don't seem to have enough spare time :( by time I put kids to bed and tidy up or sort stuff out its half evening gone :( I'm currently in middle of the flowergirl dresses and seems to be taking me ages because can only cram few hours in an evening! How do/did you ladies sort time to do stuff around everything? I still have invites and stationary I'd like to get done soon but at same time I'm trying not to do stuff every night so it doesn't take over and I work late Monday-wed so those evening are out anyway :/ I know once I done everything I'll be bored and wanting some thing else to do. But does anyone worry how they'll cram all the stuff in? Would love to know what bits everyone doing theirselves whether to save money or to add the personalised affect x

you know what I did.. started mega early so it doesn't matter if not a lot is done each night. also don't have kids which helps a lot.

With stationary have a bridal party day will all BMs moms etc and get a production line going. that will speed things up x

Problem is the stuff that I need to do couldn't be started til now because of sizes and the information I need like the invites I still don't have all the information to complete them :( I only have one adult bm and she lives 2 hrs away and I'm a perfectist so would prefer to do it on my own haha I'm also buying bits as I go to eek the money out meaning I'm having to wait for certain things so can finish stuff! Think because I know the dresses will take a few weeks as so much work x3 but just want to know if they'll be good enough haha. Once they are done I know I can relax abit as they are my scariest project to do! I love doing it all myself just worry they stuff won't be good enough or finished in time! X

We didn't do that much making ourselves as neither of us are that good at it. My MOH did some of the dresses and MIL did the stationery (she did start early). We did put together the centrepieces but that was more a case of buying objects and arranging them. We bought the bits a little at a time. Where we spent most of our time was the admin, sending invites, chasing responses, doing table plans, making sure everyone booked accommodation well in advance as the NATO summit was happening nearby the following week, and confirming suppliers. Fortunately that was the kind of thing we could do in lunchbreaks and after work. We had the advantage of no children as well. I suppose the only thing I can suggest is to consider delegating if it looks like it's going to be a rush.

30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

Thanks ladies I'm going to write a list of things I need to do and in the order of importance ( love my lists haha) and then work down it ticking things off as least I'll feel I'm achieving things haha. I'm really bad at delegating as can be quite bossy as I like things how I like and don't want ppl thinking I'm a bridezilla haha so I sort of just do it all til I get stuck then oh comes and saves the day hehe. My mum will help with the invites as shes very crafty too. Think I'm just super nervous of the dresses as I've done few sewing bits but nothing this important. Silly as when I finish all the bits I'll be bored and want more to do haha x

Hi, here are a few photos, the book is split into various sections and then in each section there are pages that are split into lists

When I properly start planning I think it will be useful- might not be for you as you sound super organised already :-)

They sell these in WH5m1th if you want to have a look at it.

I wasn't too keen but found one on @[email protected] I liked so if you are getting one take a look around to make sure its one you like the layout of (i.e. min is an A5 ring binder so can add things in myself)
All depends what you want x

I've got a very similar one to that Michelle, OH bought it for me when we first got engaged :) I don't use it much because I find a lot of the stuff in there isn't actually relevant! I prefer just to use my wedding spreadsheet as find it easier to use and see everything. I do like how it has pockets to store things in though - when we went to the National Wedding Show I popped all the cards and leaflets etc in them xx

I have t actually used it yet- can't see my carrying it round but thought it was a good reminder of what needs to be completed :-)

I've a feeling that we may end up resorting to spreadsheets too so you can see it all on one page but it was a nice gift anyway :-)

It is a lovely gift. I've been thinking of just completing mine fully just so I can keep it as a momento of the planning process - it seems to hold a bit more sentimentality than a spreadsheet lol xx
