    Hi Newbie here

Has anybody got any tips, names of reputable wedding planners etc for the Orlando area of Florida

Me and him indoors have been together for 16 years (cohabited for 12 years and have 2 daughters). He finally plucked up the courage to propose in Celebration, Florida in Sept 2011.

We all want to go back to Florida but also want to get hitched (I'm not getting any younger!! 41) but can't afford a UK wedding (the costs are ridiculous in my opinion) and to go back the the US while the kids are still young enough to appreciate the magic of Disney!!

Would greatly appreciate any information :)

i am getting married in florida next year with a company, i will post it on the wall for you. I think in total it is costing us £2500 but that is getting extra photos and 2 limousines bigger cake etc. I have had it booked with them for 6 months now and have regular conversations with them with any slight queries i have and they always get back to me. It is an English and american company so you have someone over here to deal with and also when you get over there you are not alone and have someone there. fantastic company and a range of places to get married at, i am getting married at cypress grove as if it decides to rain on the day we can take it inside xxx hope this helps, they also give you contacts for the name of hairdressers and makeup artists.

    Good luck

    Hi DitsyWife2B

Many thanks for the reply, I've added you as a friend. I was a bit reluctant about plumping for an internet company as they could be anyone and take your money and run, that's why I decided to ask for help!!!! I couldn't believe some of the prices for weddings in FL so much cheaper than the UK!!! Matt wants a beach wedding but I fancy the Bohemian hotel in Celebration (that's where he proposed) It's all very daunting organising a wedding!!!!

    Hi Babybex

Thanks for the reply, we've had mega holiday blues ever since we came back, our youngest daughter (5) keeps bursting into tears wanting to go back!!!! It took us 2 years to save for this holiday and we liked the thought of going back for our honeymoon, but after attending a number of wedding fairs we realised there was no way we could afford to get hitched and go back to FL, so that's when we thought about doing it all in one go. Been trawling through the internet looking at various companies and it becomes a bit overwhelming!!!!

    Hi space,

I burst into tears when I see the Disney ad on the TV! I had the most amazing holiday with the most amazing people.
My nephew wants to go live out there, he keeps asking when we are going back (he's only 7) It would be my ideal honeymoon location that and Cancun, I'd have to have about a month's holiday if not longer!!!!
Good luck with your planning, don't forget to ask our opinions, we're a friendly bunch and give our own opinions xx

what I do is when I've searched the internet and see a company I like the look of, I look at their reviews on the independent review sites and make my decision on them. I do this on all my decisions wedding and non wedding stuff!

Hey there peeps, I'm new to all this! I've got a venue booked in the UK for June 2013, but looking into prices and things, we have discovered that we (a family of 5 = 2 adults and 3 children aged 5-10yrs) can have a 1wk cruise including a wedding ceremony on a Disney Cruise ship, plus 2 weeks in florida AFTER that with all Theme Parks, food, accommodation and transport etc for LESS than a UK wedding WITHOUT honeymoon! Soooo, we're swaying more towards losing our £500 deposit on our venue and doing it all abroad too - anyone able to help? I'd like to add you "DitsyWife2B" as a friend if that's ok, to get more info? xxx

P.S. a UK wedding for us, in our area and with EVERYTHING we want (excluding honeymoon) is going to cost around £18k-£20k, whereas doing it all in Florida will be around £15k - I think that's what's known as a "no brainer" ?! lol xx

    Hi ladies!

I can't help personally but a good friend of mine works in the catering business in Orlando and as he has a little girl is a regular at Disney World. I can ask if he has any suggestions and pass on a contact number/email address if you like? He's from Warrington originally but has lived out there for about 20 years I think and so may be of some help? :0) xx

    Can't wait to be married!

    Hi Kylee27

Any help/information is welcome especially if it's from someone based US. My cousin has a villa in Florida and they we're going ask their management company to put some feeler out for us as well.
Concentrating on decorating the house this year then, gonna get some serious wedding planning into action.

    xxxxx
