Me and OH have booked wedding in Crete for 1st August 2014. I have just contacted the transaltion service recommended by Thomson and they have quoted £460 for all docs to be translated etc. I don't know if thats just me but it seems a bit steep. Has anyone got married in Greece/Crete. I am a bit worried if I try and go it alone I'll b*gger it up and end up not legally married! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated :) xxx

there is a cyprus thread which may well help out on the ... as they all have documents to be translated from/to Greek
I am getting married in Crete next year and for the documents translating from English to Greek (UK Paperwork) is currently at £220.00... For the Greek translations, checking of legal docs, Greek Marriage licence fees, town hall admin fees, mayor call out fees, providing official recognised marriage certifications and collecting the apostile stamps and couriering the marriage certificate to my home address, and a few other bits is €1100.00... Hope this helps xxx
