Any body else thinking of getting married or has been married abroad? i am looking at cyprus and i am very scared. Any tips or hints on who to go with etc?

I will probably be in cyprus then too. i have just put an approximate wedding date as we havent confirmed date etc yet with the hotel. are you booking through a wedding company so you have a package deal or are you doing everything yourself? if you are using a package who is it you are using?

we've booked a package through the bridal consultant, which hotel are you looking at and what area? and are you doing a package as well? we're getting married in the coral beach hotel in paphos xx

I haven't and I'm not getting married abroad but I attended my bil2b's wedding in Portugal last September and was really involved with the planning. The couple were so nervous about it at first but once they found the venue they wanted everything seemed to be so easy for them. They had a wedding co-ordinator as part of the package and they were in contact a lot! The brides sister lived out in Portugal and everyone thought it would really help, she could go to the venue if any problems came up and she'd be able to speak Portuguese etc but she wasn't needed once, everything went so well and run smoothly and the actual day was AMAZING I have never been to such a beautiful wedding, it was perfect, the venue was incredible, the staff were so lovely and it was half the price of my wedding! grrrrrrr lol. Good luck!! But I'm sure you don't need it :-) It will be easy once you start

i found speaking to a planner was really easy they let you know the process i must admit now the dates and venues are sorted there isnt much else for me to do until nearer the time then you can confirm numbers menus exactly what you want with options or flower choices colours etc so far it all seems pretty simple i have been given an idea of the package i'm looking at then i taylor make it to my wants and needs

Jodie b. Just wanted to say we went out to c our friends get married at the coral beach hotel in paphos! It was such a beautiful wedding they had the ceremony on a terrace and the views were stunning overlooking the beach! then we had a BBQ buffet which was best BBQ ever and we ate as the sun was setting.was a gorgeous hotel too! So well done u I'm sure ull have a fab time!

thanks gem! am so pleased to hear its all ok we fell in love with the hotel but its great to know someone whos been to a wedding there and was good, we're having the bbq too on the terrance but having the ceremony in the ampitheatre bit xx

Oh yeah I did c the amphitheatre that looked nice too! How many people are u having come out there? My friend had about 20 people and it was very relaxed after the ceremony we all drank pimms and mingled whilst they got their photos done and then we had the buffet. Are u having any entertainment at all? X

That sounds like a nice amount of people not too many and not too few. Yes after the buffet there was two cypriot dancers did a show for about 30 mins and they got everyone involved and dancing! Then we had some more drinks and listened to music but music was very quiet. It did feel like there was something missing entertainment wise like it needed a dj and a disco so urs sounds perfect. The men made their own entertainment in the end by stripping and jumping in the pool! Was very funny ESP when someone decided to nick someones clothes and then thy got told off by the hotel manager! He said they would be damaged sexually coz of the amount of chemicals that were put in the pool to clean it at night and they soon got out after hearing that! Lol

It would have been cheaper for us to go away and get married but the inlaws would never fly and we wouldn't get married without them so settled for doing it over here. Some of the packages do look lovely though.

So hi again everybody. Well tomorrow is the day we book and get a wedding date for next year so excited. Hopefully the 27th July 2012 at the sunrise beach hotel, protaras, cyprus. Finally found a decent affordable wedding package from medwedltd and have got 25 confirmed guests so far x x x

i know you may have sorted your weddings by now..but i lived and worked in protaras for a year firstly with the tsokkos hotels and then on my own. the tsokkos hotels are beautiful particualr vrissina beach hotel, the silver sands has recently been done out and now they do weddings at a very affordabled price. if anybody every needs info on protaras please inbox me as i still have contacts out there!!!!

other hotels i would recommend are the constantinos hotel and the tsokkos beach hotel. if your guests are looking to stay a little bit cheaper i would recommned staying at the tsokkos beach hotel and marrying at the vrissian there both beach front!!!!

Hello everyone, I am new to UKbride, my name is Kerrie I am looking for some help and advice on getting married in Dominican Republic, we are looking to be married on the beach, around October 2015 so plenty of time yet, but we don't have any idea where to start or the legal side of it all, so any advice would be great
