I just think of all those children who apparently go to school hungry because their parents cannot afford to feed them. It's so sad.

I find it scandalous that people can be starving but so much is being thrown away that is perfectly good to eat.

Yes I can't understand how in Britain there are starving children- it does make you wonder what some parents priorities are- but then you do hear of genuine cases where a parent works all hours and money is spent to put a roof over head, bills and clothes and then nothing left for food.

I like watching these bin raiders- I think it's wrong that supermarkets spray food with dye so it can't be eaten too

To me politicians just think parliament is a game A like a Punch and Judy show- annoys me that they are not with the real world- I'm not a fan of DC but he's not got us in anymore debt and we now do have more money to spend per household do not done that bad all things considered

Yeah it's really sad- I read in the paper today I war veteran with dementia has lost his medals :(

I love music, always have done. My dad tells a story of me in my cot, and him having a record on downstairs, something with a loud opening and then quiet. In the quiet bit he heard me giggling and saying 'moosic'. Clearly I was always going to be musical. I did recorder first, then piano then flute, but flute quickly took over. I did my degree in music and my masters in flute performance. I've also done a flute teaching diploma, and I'm hoping I can take pupils at some point. I do the odd bit of paid flute playing but definitely still need the job that I have.

EC I'm so jealous, I wanted a life in music but for my parents it was a good hobby and extra curricular activity but not something they would encourage as a career.

What I'd love is to do enough paid performance work that I don't need to do anything else (other than maybe some teaching). For most people though that remains a dream.

Slept OK actually which was good, took a little while to get off but once I did it was nice sleep. WOke up with a bladder the size of a small country at one point. Did not want to get out this morning though but got Freddie round in a bit.

Hope the headache gets better

Freddie has had his breakfast, Dirty nappy and a change of clothing. Kids gone off to school, think they wanted to stay and play though. Freddie currently playing in his walker chatting away.

I did thank you GF and Emily. Time away was really nice, we stayed in a lovely little cottage down a private lane in the middle of nowhere just on the edge of a small village, it was gorgeous.

Quiet?!? Looks like it's been busy to me - I started catching up on last week's general chitchat thread but had to give up as there was so many pages lol!

Flossie, being in the middle of nowhere sounds lovely. I done that once for hubby's birthday, booked a lovely hotel in the middle of nowhere in lymington. Was lovely just to get away from the hustle and bustle of everything, just being in the middle of fields

It was lovely. We were close enough to the village to be able to access shops, pubs, chippies, etc. but where we were was so quiet. Was a 10-15 minute walk to pubs/shops etc. and about a 30 min walk to Combe Martin beach. We went to Woolacombe on my birthday which Oscar loves, he had a whale of a time running about like a loon on the beach. On Friday we went on a national trust walk through the Heddon Valley, which took us to a place called Heddon's Mouth - it was absolutely stunning, hands down the most beautiful natural thing I've seen with my own eyes. We even saw a seal swimming in the sea, it was amazing! If anyone is ever down that way I would highly recommend doing this walk.
