Had our dream perfect honeymoon in Hawaii!

Church was lIvey this morning, we had the awards for JMA (junior mission for all) which is when the children collect money through the year to give to various charities through the church. They get a badge for every year they do it, so they all get called up to get them. There are a few adults that collect as well, but most adults give to one of the children's collections instead. One of my friends who moved to Yeovil when her husband joined the navy was there, she tries to visit Cardiff reasonably frequently. Her kids are three and 18 months, and the younger one is doing lots of crying at the moment. After the service she was in a mood where nothing would cheer her up, and she wouldn't even have a cuddle from her mum. One of the other little girls, who is about three months older, kept trying to give her a toy and was really quite concerned about her. it was really sweet. In the end the older girl's mum had to explain that it was very kind of her to try and help but the other girl just wanted to cry.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

Mums on his side in a fashion. Says if you're married all money should be shared. If I did that he'd wittle it all away his or not
CommentAuthorBecci93
Did a vague mock up of our pocket fold tonight to see how hard it is. Took an hour but that's because we can't find the guillotine at mums. Be much easier and look much better using that.

Becci that's way too traditional fodr me- we still said that even when married everything is 50:50 and by then I should be on more and be able to pay half food too- I find it odd for a man to be happy to be a kept man! at one point I earned more than oh and he hated the fact i earned more than him lol
CommentAuthorInDreamland
I like that we're equals, I am one of those women who doesn't want to be a kept woman and have to ask for money, I like earning my own. Hubby though has suggested that if we ever have kids that I could go part time. Not sure whether I like the pay cut.

My salary is actually more than hubby's but with all the overtime and overnight payments he gets his take home matches mine and sometimes is a bit more.

If I didn't trust hubby with money I'd keep it all myself and not give him access but I trust him 100% and even given him cards for my credit card accounts.

Yeah IDL I completely agree with you- I am very much my own person- to be honest no matter how much you earn you should learn to save and be able to live within your means and save too!
CommentAuthorInDreamland
I do like feeling like I have earned something when I treat myself. I do save hard. Not really sure how I feel about working part time, everyone I work with who is part time still work full time hours by the time you add on the extra they do at home on their off days and also in the evenings.

I agree about living within your means. Really annoys me when people who have a good income still get themselves into debt. One of my sister's friends is a lawyer, earns in the region of £90k, she spent all her money on living it up, going to posh restaurants and bars and buying expensive clothes etc. Then took out a couple of grand loan to pay for a 8008 job. When she does make food at home it's ready meals from m@rk5.

I like to save. I like looking in my bank and seeing the hard work pay off. Oh is the opposite and prefers short term benefits
CommentAuthorBecci93
That's absolutely ridiculous idl!
CommentAuthorInDreamland
The part time working but actually doing full time or the debt for a 8008 job?

Yeah IDL I am so like you - I would hate to be a kept women! Although oh earns double,I still earn a decent enough wage to pay motgage, save and pay for holidays, hubby insists he pays for meals and drinks- but even when we first started going out he would still pay for food and drinks
CommentAuthorInDreamland
I'm the same, love watching the savings grow. Although at the moment we're trying to pay down the mortgage by overpaying each month.

The b00b job business idl. Especially when she's earning such a big wage!!!
Mm. Oh barely ever pays, if we have takeaway he sometimes does but mainly gets the money out the joint account but if I ever pay for anything I pay out my personal money so we can save for home improvements
CommentAuthorMichelleC961
Becci I know you have said you both put in £500 a ,ing- foes that more than cover it, if so. Woukd work out exactly your half do ere is no extra in here so oh can't spend it- that's what oh snd I do, we both put in £500 and kinks then give or take £20 covers all moths get and bills so there is no extra! That way oh will have to use own money to pay for anything! Have you had a conversation about money and say that when you are married even tho you earn more he has to learn to pay his half of everything.....
CommentAuthorBecci93
Our bills mortgage and shopping each month only comes to £500. We put £500 in each month and the other &500 is meant to be savings for renovations each month
CommentAuthorBecci93
And he just gets arsey if I say it's not fair always expecting me to pay for the nicer things.
He said if I want to go on holiday I either have to pay for him or go with my parents because 'he cant afford it' which is rubbish he just spends it on tosh
CommentAuthorMichelleC961
In thst case becci I woukd put in £300 and have your own savings account for £200 so he can't access it and as yi have gone on holiday with your parents until he learns you are not paying for him, if you both put in an extra £200 even if he earned £1000 a moth, what does he spend the rest on???
