I have no Christmas leftovers because we went to my parents for Christmas day. Although a turkey and mayo sarnie would be nice.

Ladies can I get your honest opinion please?
My sister and BIL are going to a friend with some others in the group for NYE. My sister asked her friend if she can bring anything like a bottle or dessert or snacks egc. Her friend then says she'll order in catering and then they can all split the bill between them. It's apparently working out at £50 per head. My sister and BIL don't drink much so are basically supplementing the others.
What do you think?
Personally I always think if you invite people round you cater yourself or say to everyone to bring a bottle and a dish each.

Oh wow that's expensive!!
Ig it was me I'd be honest and say that's iver budget and would prefer to bring my own and be excluded from the money in!
I'd rather pop to rhe supermarket and get a fresh pizza or Indian meal or something than pay that much!
CommentAuthorInDreamland
I agree it's a crazy price, even if she went to m&5 and ordered in their catered platters of party food it would not cost that much in food. Then if people want to drink something specific they can bring it themselves butid probably provide enough wine for a bottle per person plus soft drinks, you can get wine in the supermarket for around £6 a bottle or get a case for a bulk buy discount.

My sister has said she's not paying £50 per head, that's £100 for her and my BIL, she's waiting to hear back.
It'd be so cheap and easy to get frozen party food in and stick it in the oven.

It just seems really rude to me. If I was catering myself for a party I could easily do it for £10 per head on food and soft drinks.

Yeah I would!!
When mum has party's she normally does homemade food too. She puts rice in the rice cooker and chilli in one slow cooker then normally does sausages and onion gravy in another slow cooker with bread buns or pulled pork. Then she does at least two homemade corned beef pies, quiche sandwiches cocktail sausages etc and pizza if needed always goes down well
CommentAuthorInDreamland
That's a great idea, I do pulled pork in the slow cooker with buns which was a hit when hubby had all his mates round for a poker night, there were 8 people and I also did noodles, prawns in breadcrumbs, chicken pieces in the oven which I seasoned the night before, then some tyoical party food like m1n1 ch3dd@r5 and crisps.

Miner on the top of Silverhill
It was so nice being in the fresh air and according to my F17817, today I've done 9,062 steps, 3.65 miles and I've had 59 active minutes
Just need to do this at least once a week and I'm sure I'll see results

Becci, apparently another friend is unlikely to agree to it too so let's see what she says. There's only 7 of them for the NYE "party" so hardly a large number to cater for. Could do that with my eyes closed.
Apparently her h2b is loaded too.

Just did day two on level one. Very sweaty but I dare say I found it easier ... Still puffing like a steam train but managed it!

He didn't buy it Becci, I bought it with money I got for Xmas.... OH and I didn't buy for each other this year. We have everything we need and we are trying to pay the wedding off so we figured rather than spend it on stuff we don't want/need we wouldn't bother.
