You can go to the interview then make up your mind once you have met the company. That's what I'd do.
The interview is about you choosing them as much as it is about them choosing you

Oh god Flossie! Hope he gets better soon!! I'm also exactly the same with my job at the moment - I've applied for more jobs - I'm so happy in the company I'm in but the money hasn't changed in the last 3 years I've been here and I just want more of a challenge now! Even after they gave me a service advisor role and then took it off me back in May!! Just feel like all I am is a bum on a seat and not a person! It never hurts talking to them - ultimately they need you more then you need them, think of the commission they'll get if all is successful!! Is there not a senior role within your current company? xx

I kind of have the senior role here it's just not reflected in my job title or my pay lol - since my colleague left a good few months ago I've had no choice but to step up into his role. The only person 'above' me is my manager. I know there is lots of room to grow here and I have been lucky with my pay rises, I know they appreciate me, bla bla bla... but I still feel I'm not on anywhere near enough money and I won't have the chance to change that again until the new year, and even then it still won't be as much as I want haha.

Just not sure if I should be patient and wait it out and then reap the rewards, or take on a new challenge somewhere else.

Also without sounding big headed I know my team would be up sh1t creek if I left and I don't want to do that to them. Although I know I should be selfish and put myself first.

    Why is life so confusing!!!

Its hard being an adult lol!
Don't worry about the team. Its up to them to step up when you leave like you have had to into the higher role.
Can you not speak to your manager now and ask if you can have a rise because your doing the extra role and responsibility?

I could try speaking to my manager but I'm not convinced anything would/could be done about pay until the new year when they undertake the annual reviews, as I know that's generally when pay gets reviewed. Although not sure if in special circumstances pay rises can be given at other times during the year.

The problem really is I'm just a whimp! Need to learn how to stand up for myself and put myself out there!

I've got it pretty cushty here really and my boss is really good to me.. the other thing is what if I left and HATED the new job? In my heart I do want to stay here and work my way up the company but my head wants more money hahah xx

Do you think that possibly if you do 'go' for a new job and see what's out there they will then try and get you to stay? Maybe its the push they need to realise you do lots of things for them and you've stepped up in his role to help them out and its about time they reflect that in title and pay?
That's seems to happen here a lot! People look elsewhere for jobs and then the company panics and realise they do an awful lot for them here so they take them into HR have a chat and low and behold they get more money and benefits so everyone's happy lol xx

I don't think I'd tell my boss I was looking at other jobs. He's very much into the whole "commitment" and "loyalty" thing so I think if he knew I was looking at other jobs he would just feel let down and would probably be more inclined to say 'ok, leave' haha. I would probably instead tell him I have researched what else is out there and as such feel I am being underpaid for what I do.

Being an adult is so over-rated sometimes! xx

I think he probably knows I'm not feeling 100% happy at the moment as I've been speaking a little to one of my colleagues and she is a bit of blab so probably mentioned something to him. I think I'm just feeling a bit unsettled at the moment what with one colleague leaving and as such having a much higher workload, and then a new colleague starting... it's all change and I don't like it!

Good luck for the MOT - hate that nervous MOT feeling!!! xx

I've been in my current job nearly 2 years, before that I was underpaid and commuting to London. They wanted to match the salary/benefits the new job offered so I would stay but it was a 10k pay rise, private medical care etc and no commuting costs!

I have reapplied for the service advisor job that I was stopped form back in May - new manager over there now and had a long talk with my current boss and basically said you cant stop me from going I need to do this or I'll end up leaving completely! Hes now going to support me so that's good and its also like 5k more then what I'm on now but same travel etc so fingers crossed! lol

Morning all. Thank goodness LO slept through last night. Woke at 6 I gave him a drink and he went back to sleep until 8.30. Don't no what to do today.

Flossie it's a tough one but 10k is a lot of money. I took on more hours in my new job to match my previous salary as I was taking a drop but I was so unhappy in my old job. Thanks to mr Cameron I will only b having a 1% pay rise over the next 4 years!!

I get use on the adult thing. Had to get oil yesterday was so annoyed as it was a big chunk taken out of money I wanted to put away for wedding

Hope your car is ok Kayleigh! and fingers crossed for the job for you all! im quiet lucky where I am with the respect in that i have a great boss, work with good people, but I was to be moving to a new role in January, this still hadn't happened and because one of the other girls had a fall out in her office she's now in the position I was to be in so that annoyed to no end! So im actively looking and currently in the process of hopefully becoming self employed! xx

I am lucky where I am, have always been given good pay rises, I know I'm appreciated, I have a great boss, there is room for growth etc... and most importantly I get to spend a lot of my time on here and wedding shopping hahah. Vets have given Oscar some tablets to settle his stomach for 3 days, then if he is eating normally and not being sick she wants us to try the anti inflammatory tablets again for a week. Seems a bit strange to me wanting him to try them again when they've made him so sick, surely the same is going to happen again?! On the plus side we've reached the excess now so any further cost is going straight to P3t Pl@n xx

Yeah not convinced about it.. OH said if/when Oscar needs to go back he's going to ask to see one of the male vets as he seems to know what he's doing more (think he's the owner too). Without sounding disrespectful the vet he saw today and last time is foreign too with a very heavy accent so it's sometimes hard to understand what she is saying!

I'm wishing I brought some munch with me today. Didn't fancy breakfast this morning, meeting my mum for lunch today but not til 1. Sooo hungry!

Vet bills are so expensive Flossie!

They just expired human tablets as well which seems crazy that we pay so much when it's for our pets! Hope he makes a speedy recovery!

My Oscar has a heart mumour but he's only 18 months; the vets don't seem bothered but our dog trainer says that the heart mumour is the reason he misbehaves on a lead! He's stretching me and h2b to the limits we love him to bits but when he's out on a lead of he sees a dog or a bike or even walking past a person he behaves like he's vicious it's so embarrassing :( our dog trainer is coming to see what he can do tomorrow but I can't even walk Oz at the moment because of my rtc last week so his behaviour is even worse because he's full of energy!

What type of dog do you have? He's still only a pup really, fingers crossed the training will start to sink in and he will calm down. Our Oscar is almost 2 and a half now but he only really calmed down about 6 months ago. He's still full of beans though. He makes himself seem really naughty because he just LOVES people and gets all hyper and bouncy when he sees anyone! xx

He's an Alsatian cross Staffordshire bull terrier, we rescued him when he was 6 months old because the family needed him gone that day; he's a beautiful dog we just need to calm him down but we seem to be failing so far! What breed do you have? I would say Ozzy is similar to Oscar; he comes across naughty because he's so excited to see people but people have their prejudice against his breed so think its aggression! Aww bless him, he's lovely! Not surprised you have your hands full though with an Alsation cross. Give him a bit more time I'm sure he will calm down eventually, just need to be patient - also given that he's a rescue he probably needs a little more time. You're doing all you can with a trainer so it will happen and you will reap the rewards for your patience!

I had days where I wondered if Oscar would ever calm down as he was soo full on, but it has happened naturally over time and he's now good as gold.

Our Oscar is a Goldendoodle (Golden Retriever / Poodle cross) xx

He does take a lot of grooming but luckily OH's mum is a groomer so we don't have to pay! It takes her 3 hours to do him though and he gets done every 6 weeks!

3 hours! Blimey she must have the patience of a saint.

My oh is in charge when ozzy needs a bath - it usually results in him chasing a very sheepish dog around the house for 30 minutes before ozzy realises he isn't going to win!

They're so naught Sarah D! The smallest amount of mud and they decide to roll in it! I'm sure they find it amusing!

I love the name milo for a dog it's so cute!

I have another called diesel who lives with my mum but him and ozzy don't tend to see eye to eye!

Bless him haha! We should maybe enroll ours to a dog walker for his lunch time walk as my partner has to rush home and walk him in a 30 minute break which stresses him out!

I'm not sure the dog walker would be able to cope with suxh a hooligan of a dog when he's supervising others though! Looking forward to the day I can say we have a well behaved dog haha!
