Monday again! I text my boss last night telling her I was dreading coming in lol... It worried her slightly so we are having a meeting this morning. Not sure what we will discuss but at least I can tell her how I feel.
It'll be better now everyone is back from the trade show! Not as quiet and depressing.

Feeling sooo grumpy today! Had a rubbish nights' sleep Saturday night and again last night, had a nap yesterday afternoon cos I was so tired but then that meant I couldn't sleep last night... feeling very tired and grumpy. Wish I could exist in my own personal bubble today and not have to speak to or deal with anyone!!!!

Morning Ladies,
I woke up really cold but I don't know if that was just me or not. OH wants to bring out the thicker quilt already!!! Time seems to flying by quicker and quicker, its the end of September next week how did that happen! On the plus side have my friends birthday party to look forward to next week and I get to make her birthday cake :)
The temperature has definitely dropped over the last few days. I like the autumn/winter months - much prefer being able to wrap up and get warm rather than being too hot and trying to cool down. Do wish I had brought a jumper/cardigan with me to work today though!

Anyone else feel like the weeks are just flying by?! Crazy how we're nearing October! I work at a University, so all our newbies have started today, phones and emails have been madness today. Every year for the whole month of September my alarm is Greenday "wake me up when September ends". I'm exhausted already!

Sounds like we're all counting the days down to the weekend! I spent most of yesterday with a stinking cold, woke up this morning feeling terrible and would have called in sick, but had a whole day of interviews to get through and couldn't get out of them! Just as well as the other person I was interviewing with was also full of cold and had come in for the same reason!!

Evening all, we didn't really get chance to have a proper chat but I had a fab day..... It was really busy and I loved having her back in the office with me. I think I get bad emotions with PMT and I hate everything and everyone. Quite looking forward to going in tomorrow lol
LO is home!! He smelled to high heaven regardless of showering every night and is sooooo tired!! I ran him a nice hot bath and he's having a cuppa then going to bed at 8.
His Nanna text me from Croatia today. She left her 1p@d on the plane so I've been in contact with Birmingham airport all afternoon.
Luckily we've located it and I've paid the release fee over the phone for her and she will collect it on her way home.
She's was gutted and the rep has been bl00dy useless apparently!! I'm the bees knees now lol.... I feel good about locating it as she does so much for me and a little gesture like this is the world for her! It had her other granddaughters wedding photos on, my wedding pictures of LO and many more so she's soooo grateful xxx things like that are priceless xx

Morning all
Never got a chance to pop on yesterday. Went to the unit to pick up any extra work I may have, I didn't have any, then the coordinator asked everyone who wanted to do an on call as there was only one, so after everyone kept quiet I offered to do it as I am on call for today anyway. Then just after that someone who called in sick on Sunday night called in to say she would not be back until Thursday yet she was actually down for a late shift yesterday, so I offered to do my visits come back, have lunch and do the late shift. She offered to get someone else to do the on call but never, and potentially I could have been called in last night. Fortunately I was not. Clinic today, not a huge one and getting my student to do most of it as up until now when she was changed to our team, she's not done much at all.
Throat still hurts from tonsillitis but getting better, not had the antibs that I am on before and it's caused thrush so I'm well and truly breaking apart. Sorry for the tmi.

A bit of positive news this morning - my mum and her boyfriend have had their offer accepted on the house they want which means we're one step closer to having our own house. Lots of things that could still go wrong and a long way to go, but at least it's a step in the right direction.
Just received the CVs from HR that they've received for the admin role.... only three which is really disappointing and I wouldn't say I'm impressed with any of them. One is a guy who I know of as he went to the same school and college as me, his experience is more customer service based rather than office/admin. One lady must be in her 50s and has lots of relevant experience which doesn't sit well with me as I will technically be "above" her and line managing her, and I'm not sure how that dynamic would work with her being older and having more experience than me. The third again seems to be a little older. We've invited the third for an interview on Monday as she seems to be the best of the bunch but hoping we get more applications in before Friday.

oh that's good news re house - fingers-crossed.
Oh dear re recruitment. I have two interviews to do this PM. Shortlisted 9. 2 pulled out. 1 didn't bother to show yesterday. Hope the interview goes well on Monday and you get some more in! I think part of our problem is the salary - it's NHS and it's not the best paid - our salaries havent really gone up so we're not competetive enough with the private sector. I know I could be earning a lot more outside the NHS for the role that I do.

You never know Flossie the older lady might be great I'm in my 50's and my boss is in her 20s it doesn't worry me taking orders from her it's so hard to get a job when you are older and the plus side is if you have kids they are normally grown up so no problems with that x

I think we've already ruled her out Joanna. Because she has so much experience she actually isn't what we're looking for anyway... my boss would much rather have someone with less/no experience so that he can train them up and mould them into what he wants. I'm not the boss so I think that's why I'd feel uncomfortable. I'd think they'd automatically see themselves above me in the team hierarchy.
We're trying to attract a younger person with little or no experience and lower salary expectations (like me when I started), and thought we'd found the perfect match in the last girl we took on, so it's a real shame she only hung around for 3 days!!!

Sorted the whole house this morning once I'd dropped LO off at nursery. He's there every morning now as he gets the free 15 hour entitlement now.
Our hamster has gone missing whilst we were on holiday and I can't find it anywhere. Mil had put food down and its not touched it. No drippings anywhere either...strange

Have you had any more applicants, Flossie? We ended up with some very good candidates, which was kind of surprising given the salary we are offering. However, some of them were too over qualified and experienced for the role. We are going to offer it to a girl with less experience, but the idea is we can mould her and she's more likely to stay than somebody who would be off at the first chance of earning more. I was meant to call the candidates today, but need to speak to HR first. Also the candidate we want to offer it to is away on holiday and not back until Monday. There was a couple who my immediate reaction was NO. Sometimes you get a gut feeling about somebody and with them both I just felt that they could be troublesome. Not making that mistake again and I've done a fair bit of recruitment since taking over this team and it's actually a lovely happy team so want somebody who will also fit in!
Well I have a fun day of sitting here doing an audit, which I can hardly wait to do!

Not sure Lindsey, the applications go straight to HR and we have to chase them to find out. I did a bit of a FB/Tw1tt3r/Inst@ push yesterday so hopefully it has reached some more people. I'm just so shocked that we've had so few applications for an admin job - you'd think you'd get loads. We're looking for someone like that too, boss wants someone like me when I started... someone with raw skills but with little/no experience of our industry so that we can mould them and hopefully they will progress like I have and stick around!!! (not blowing my own trumpet, lol).
The lady we have invited to interview for Monday has confirmed. Not sure she will be a good fit though, but we shall see.

Emm, rest is a no no here. Too much to do. Fortunately though yesterday my darling daughter done a couple of loads of laundry after school. I asked hubby to clean our ensuite when he had a shower as I had sprayed cleaner in the morning and left it, so he literally most likely sprayed water around it, never cleaned the door or anything else in there. P!ssed off is an understatement. He said recently that as I am here most of the time then I do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Today I am having words when I take his lunch down. I am shattered!! Did not want to wake up this morning, got up, cleaned around, hoovered, sorted some of the laundry my daughter done yesterday, been shopping, now having a break on here before starting again.Back on nights tonight as well!!

WHen I finish on Friday morning I am then on annual leave for a couple of weeks, but I have offered to go in and do two shifts the first week and one the next week. Extra money towards christmas then. I shall rest then. I am feeling a whole lot better so far today, not so sore to swallow, just tired, but this afternoon I shall crawl into bed and hopefully get some rest

FIL is getting married in Cyprus next May and the costs are creeping up. My OH is part Cypriot and her Grandad lives out there, so when we go to see him (which is our only holiday each year) we stay with him and he lets us use his car and cooks us dinner most nights, so all we have to take care of are flights and spending money, which is very lucky for is. However his future wife works in a school so the wedding is during the half term, which has put our flights up, what we normally pay for both, we're paying for 1 flight, and they've said they want us all together, so now we're having to stay in a hotel. So a holiday that normally costs us £400 is costing us over a £1000 and less than 18 months before our wedding, I'm really worried. I realise this makes me sound quite selfish and spoilt, and I really don't mean to be, so please don't think badly of me. I know they deserve to have the day they've always wanted and getting married in Cyrpus means a lot to them, so I would never begrudge them they day they want, I'm just worried about the finances, as it seems like we're the only ones who have every penny we earn, budgeted for. And it's really not the case of me thinking my wedding is more important, as that is really not me at all.
One of the guys who took care of the hotel bookings, opted for the more expensive sea view rooms without asking us, whereas I would be happy in the basement with no view if it save me some money lol.
FIL is helping us financially as much as he can, which I am very grateful for, but it makes me feel awful, I feel like we're always the ones asking for help and saying that we can't do something because of money. But last night OH spoke to her brother who was saying about us getting a hire car, because we wont be able to get around when they all plan group, family days out.... so even more money! I just don't know what to do, it's getting me down a bit :( I even suggested to OH about going on her own so we didn't have the extra flight cost and extra spending money, but she said no.

Emm, yeah he does usually if I am working, it does give me something to do as well though. I did have a rest, never slept but did lay in bed for an hour and just chilled.

I haven't baked anything sweet for ages as just not been in at weekends- I will often bake bread and flat breads to go with evening meals- this weekend is free and as OH is ill so perfect opportunity to bake :-)

Evening hope everyone is well. Not been around for the past week or two been feeling really down and not myself. Really don't know what is wrong with me but I can't seem to shake myself out of it, I'm not sad but I'm not happy either I just feel neutral and have absolutely 0 patience.
Feel like the wedding is a waste of money and time and just don't have the heart or will to do any planning. I just want it to be over with now so I can get on with life... Is that ridiculous? It's not even stressful the planning because everything's in hand and I'm super organised. It's like post wedding blues before the wedding has even started!
