Congratulations Jenn. My instincts were wrong, I was convinced I was having a girl until the scan. Joseph caused problems too, they sent me to go to the loo part way through, which I was very grateful for.

Better night last night. Joseph woke when we were going to bed because his cough disturbed him, so I put him on the breast at that point to settle him. Then he woke up at 3:45, I used the dummy first as I thought he could go another hour, but he was crying again at 4:00 so he had his bottle then. I thought with the 11:00 feed which he doesn't normally have he'd go longer, as he sometimes goes as late as 5:00. He slept the rest of the night though. He's exhausted after a busy day, M0nkey Mus1c this morning which he loves. It's in a local supermarket in a community room, and he fell asleep while I did some shopping, I didn't have to get him to sleep. After lunch we had an antenatal class get together, I think only the second time all seven babies have been together, although there is a meet-up most weeks. Everyone is so busy it's difficult to get everyone together. It was very exciting for all the babies, and great to chat about weaning which is the next big stage for everyone. So far Joseph is loving it.

Congratulations Becki xxx would love to see pics xx

Been a long week unfortunately. Found out at cubs on Monday that one Cub is bullying another Cub. Just started crying on my drive home and been struggling with it since. I'm hoping that steps we've put in place will deal with it but just heartbroken.
Oh on nights so in for a long night again.. least it's his last! :)

What went right Joanna would probably be easier. We're devastated .. there's too much to go into (3 a4 sides of paper of mistakes)

    A brief 'main issues'
On arrival 3 issues - guests not in garden for drinks like promised unless raining (no rain 21degrees in fact!!!)
Cars parked in front of the hotel when they promised they wouldn't be
Went in hotel got our canope (fish and chip cones) was meant to be chunky chips instead it was fries .. in all our meetings they kept saying fries might be better and we specifically said on several occasions no chunky chips (when questioned on this it turns out the chef took it upon himself to make the decision that morning after filling the cone for a test (the morning of the wedding even though we gave them the cones a week prior!?) because he felt you didn't get enough chips if chunky which we said it was meant to be a canope we only wanted a couple!

Walked further in the moc took hubby away for a private discussion so I immediately was left on my own .. luckily my came out to meet me which gave me the opportunity to have emergency hair repairs after the wind dismantled it oops!

Then photographer scooped us away for photos
At 3.45 (15 mins before receiving line was due to start) moc came over and said we should really be going in we normally start 15 mins early so I said no photographer wants until 4
After photographer finished went inside to find moc Bm wanted the loo so I said wait till she's back to start .. in the meantime I took my god daughters pram into the room ready for her .. only to find that there was dirty serviettes on the floor and the tables were all set up totally wrong and not inline with my table plan what so ever. Pram was in the middle of the room despite me putting it on the edge near the door in case they needed to nip out with her their solution? Span the table round to put her on the outside. But the table she was on also had all my bms on and it was the furthest table away from me even though I put them at the front nearest me ... told them I wasn't happy and walked out before I cried .. hubby made them change it but they would only swap the two outside tables at the back even though the full back row was the wrong way round and the bridesmaid table was meant to be at the front ... now delayed almost an hour

Started receiving line now fuming upset etc, half way through noticed they weren't playing our music we'd given them for it so stopped it half way and told them to put it on. No microphone for the speeches like we were told. Simons mum in a wheelchair - venue well aware - didn't leave enough space to get wheelchair behind top table in front of fireplace and put a table leg where her place setting was so had to swap all the seats over

Starters came out ... they forgot top table bread so had to ask for it.. took ages to clear. Main came out ages after, 'meant to be chicken breast wrapped in bacon with Yorkshire pudding and mash .. chicken came with a bone in - had asked them prior to the wedding if there was definitely no bone as I don't like meat on the bone nor did a lot of guests and the potatoes were roasted not mash .. I don't like roasties and Simons mum couldn't eat them because of her stroke! Apparently our veg was cold too. Because the food was wrong Simons mum took a lot longer than everyone else to finish .. she felt awkward so after everyone else had been finished 20 mins with only Simons mum eating I went to the kitchen hall where all staff were stood talking and said can you go clear my guests tables please you can see they're getting agy just leave the top table .. told me it was cause she was still eating and I said yes I know but you can see everyone else is wondering what's happening please clear you should have come and discussed this with us rather than just standing here .. so they cleared. I spent months preparing a disk of music to have playing in the background of the breakfast ... didn't even bother playing it!

Deserts were fine. Evening guests atarted to arrive while we were still eating .. no staff directing them so I had to blah blah blah.

Many guests were served red raw burgers on the BBQ as in inedible - many saying they think they must have been an cooked pile they were that bad. When we were announced into the room they sent us through a door onto the dance floor ... where a full pint of coke had been spilt and not mopped up .. it was there for two hours before I told best man to get the staff to sort it out. Apparently early on into the night the toilets had no toilet roll despite staff being told on 4 occasions.

Loads more went on but it's a long post already!
Went up to our room around 2am (me stone cold sober simon - hammered drowning his sorrows) I was going to get a bottle of water before we went up but all all guests said they had bottles in their room - didn't bother getting any .. went to our room "honeymoon suite" no water, no nothing in fact just a plain room - nothing special ... next morning I tidied everything up on my own .. including our garden games that had been left out in the pouring rain all night but noticed a few things were missing like our dismounted off the tables, personalised heart table decorations, favour packets for a couple of guests that didn't turn up to the day along with their wooden table names so I asked at reception for these .. we'll find them .. went back 4 hours later - still not there .. member of staff went looking for 15 minutes - came back with loads of excuses where they were - in reality sounds like it's all been binned!! Breakfast room - my guests were sat on big tables with people they didn't even know ... they put some of our guests in a little room just off the main breakfast area but then put the 3 couples that were not wedding guests right down the middle of the breakfast room. They served my food on my parents dirty breakfast table (still had all their dirty plates etc on) gave me no clean cutlery or butter had to get all this myself .... argh! Now they have the cheek to threaten me with solicitors to resolve it!

Yes but they will only discuss it further in a face to face meeting and they will only allow me and Simon to attend .. won't even let my mum go, told us otherwise they are happy to let their solicitor sort, they're also saying that there are differences in opinion from what I've said and staff are saying but everything I wrote was 100% factual

Plus whatever the outcome of the complaint it won't make anything better; you only get one wedding day, one chance to make it perfect and they failed. I'm the first in my group of friends to get married so that means I now have to go to all my friends weddings and be pleased for them when really it will break my heart knowing I never got to be a bride properly

I know :( after all the stress they caused me in the planning I thought the day they would do their best to get right .. I even told the manager how much I was dreading it the week before and he promised it would be perfect and memorable for us .. memorable for all the wrong reasons it seems :( it was all rushed because they took an 18th party the night before our wedding two weeks before the wedding, this stopped us from setting up like we wanted to to make sure everything was right - moc even told us the week before that the latest a wedding room would normally be set was the Tuesday or Wednesday if it was a Saturday wedding!! Wedding planner went on holiday a week before the wedding didn't bother to tell us and was still on holiday for the wedding too... so normally the weddings there have moc, hotel manager and wedding coordinator .. ours just had moc no wonder it was a failure

    Afternoon all.

Popped out to get cards yesterday for my eldest as it is his birthday today, picked up the girl on the train book, came home, made a cuppa and sat on the sofa all afternoon reading. It was a lovely afternoon. Managed to get well over half way, this morning I read a little more, went to pump and came home, cuppa and finished it off. Very good book.

Oh Becci what an absolute nightmare and I can't believe the Manager is being such an idiot about it. I don't see why he only wants you and hubby at the meeting, as the end of the day it's up to you who you bring to a meeting, especially if she contributed towards the wedding which they appear to have ruined for you. Stand your ground and don't be put off by threats of solicitors xx

Happy birthday to your son GF.

I can never get my head round why some organisations offer such poor customer service... surely the best thing for them to do would be to admit they messed up (even if their internal investigations say otherwise i.e. their staff are lying), offer you appropriate compensation and move on. There's just no need for them to be so awkward about it and drag it on. They have clearly ignored your instructions and gone against your wishes, effectively you've paid for a service that they've not given you - really can't see how they can't accept responsibility for that.

Becci, not trying to stick up for the venue, but maybe some guests maybe took some of the bits thinking they were available to take. I only say this because at our wedding, we had fishbowls with lights in and people were going off with the lights. I got a couple of sets back but had to replace the others as they were hired.

Gf, all the bits were for the guests to take but I had three guests that for one reason or another were unable to attend on the day; one of the settings weren't even on the table but these are nowhere to be found either. Plus there was tonnes of diamontes of ours on all the tables but none of these anywhere returned. Needed them for my goddaughters christening .. not really that cheap either at £10 for a 10000 bag

It's just so unfair that they are treating you this way and now you have such bad memories of your wedding day (after the service anyway, which I am sure was beautiful). Like you say, you only get one wedding day and they can't change what happened but an apology ands some compensation would at least be more civilised rather than being downright rude to you xx

That's awful Becci. The fact that they won't allow anyone else at the meeting makes me think they are worried. Are there any photos that can show some of what you've said? Statements from other guests might be helpful two. I hope you can at least get some money back. I know it can't change what happened, but maybe you can put it towards a celebration at some other time, like a renewal of vows.

The md has just messaged me saying he only wants the two of us to keep it as simple as possible and he's confident they can resolve it if both parties respect the other etc.. meeting isn't until 11th November and I told them I don't want to go back to the place we married, bad memories and a 30 minute drive so they agreed to do it at their sister hotel in our town ...

Hopefully won't need to go into guest witness reports and things - I hope!

We have a few photos but we didn't really think, the photographer unknowingly got one of the tables set up showing they weren't as per instruction and mum took a photo of my feet (took my shoes off for an hour) and they were literally black, they claim they sweep and mop after every event but other guests commented on how they were sticking to the floor too and the dirty napkin o found proves they didn't clean thoroughly so doubt the floor did get mopped on this occasion

I feel a little sorry for the staff - or did! I truly do think those on duty did try their best but the moc was only about our age and it was a fair sized wedding for one person to do everything

Glad it's Friday... say it every week, but really need some chill time this weekend, I'm just feeling constantly drained and knackered at the moment! The weeks are just whizzing by so quickly.

Feeling a bit out of sorts today. Had a banging headache all morning that I put down to skipping breakfast but I've been snacking all morning to make up for it. Starting to get a sore throat as well which normally means the start of a cold.

Not got much planned this weekend... football tomorrow with my mum then probs get a takeaway and watch cr@p telly with hubby. He'll be playing football Sunday morning then not sure what we'll do with the rest of the day. Mum will be bringing her new doggy round to us at some point so we can see what he's like with us in the house and with our dog etc... her and her partner are thinking of going away for the night next week so I've said we will look after him.
