Afternoon all

I was so tired I crashed out on the sofa. Woke with a dead leg.

Afternoon everyone. What a day. I didn't get home from work until 10am, 2 hours late! As if 12 hours wasn't enough. LO was late in getting to nursery as I had the car seat. He was only booked in until 1 so OH lifted him and brought him home and put him go bed so I could sleep. I'm chilling on the sofa now catching up on soaps when the cleaning needs doing. LO due to wake anytime. Need to get food shopping later but couldn't be bothered. 2 nights shifts left and that's me finished. Off then for almost 2 weeks before I start my new job

Is your new job on a different area altogether?

On tues & wed night so one night break. I'm useless at nights I get so tired. Yea it is I work in private sector at the minute and going to nhs. I work in dementia care at the min.

I dunno how you ladies do it, work then deal with the kids and then little sleep! I've never had to work nightshift but I don't think id fancy it xx

With my line of work as well, it could start off looking calm, but it's very much like a and e, you never know what is around the corner. At night we only have four midwives on duty, so imagine if four women came in and there were some on the ward! We need to call community midwives in

Not sure hubby understands how nights can make you feel. He thinks that as he grew up with his dad doing them he does, but his dad used to do six nights and have one off all the time. Plus he thinks that the day following a night shift at the end or a one off is a day off! That's a sleep day. I managed the other week doing two nights and then an hours kip in the morning, then another hour in the afternoon, and they were two busy nights.

Yep one night break is rubbish.

I never get used to it with the nights. It's not like I don't like doing them, I am happy enough to do them, just that would rather my body would sleep more during the day. One of my colleagues goes to bed in the morning not long after getting in and sleeps until 5/6pm. That would be lush.

The first shift is horrid, hate it. I find I'm tired until about midnight, then get my second wind, then about 4/5am I flag again.

Really don't know what to do for dinner. Cannot be bothered to cook. Might do a chip shop.

Think I might keep the chicken for tomorrow evening, I can get all the veg prepared before I leave for work and then hubby will only need to turn the oven on as its a roast in the bag one.

When I went to the bank at lunch time there is a fish and chip shop nearby and it smelt sooooo nice! Not sure what we're having for dinner tonight, can't work out what I fancy but I am staaarving. It's either prawn curry and rice or a tuna salad with boiled eggs and new pots xx

Im off in 5 mins ladies, got a busy night tonight so prob wont be on until tomorrow have a nice evening all xx

Chip shop dinner was lush, now off to my parents for a bit and then round to post my nephew's card.

Evening all had a lovely the and just ordered my favour jars from the bay xx

Evening everyone, im so glad to be back in uni this week after a 12 week block of placement. only in this week then a much deserved 2 week break. saying that I still have to get up at crack of dawn to do the school run :(
i really must have been a wicked person in my past life because as the saying goes there is no rest for the wicked!
